“Good place to hang out, swim, have some drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

We stopped by for drinks a couple of times while on vacation. This place is located on the Split (the channel separating the north and south portions of the island). There are plenty of docks and space for hanging out and catching some sun. Good swimming off the east side of the point. Beers are reasonably priced.

“Beat the Lizard King With 8 As Your Goal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Simply put, "The Split" is where its at. Hang out where the island was torn in two back in the late 60's.

The Green Lizard drink will see you trying to neck as many as possible and then for some reason removing your clothes and trying to swim to the north island yelling something about getting "back to nature and free spirits". The bar staff are as friendly as you are to them so if you are polite and but them a drink or throw a tip they will look after you in the busy times.

Elmer is super hard working. Throw down on a bucket of beer for $20BZD and the hold a $10BZD deposit on the bucket. Stout is better (blue top)

Food is good and fast. The location is perfect.

Few things to watch out for. NEVER EVER dive off the right side of the jetty (underwater objects)

NEVER stand on the bottom at the left of the jetty where you come out as its full of glass. I spent a day picking it all up but still got cut.

Swim to the north island and go croc hunting. Jump of the V of the old tree but push out far as the landing is shallow.

Swim across as slack tide and its easy. Swim at full flow and it can be quite a swim. The hardest part is the last 25 m on the other side. 1 month there and no one got into difficulties but just be aware.

Rum Punch is the drink of choice and the local rum or vodka is great. Sunset is awesome but always look behind you for the moon as well.

I spent day after day after day here with global travelers and fell in love with it. Came for a day and stayed for a month.

Corey Stroner is the undisputed Lizard King. Be warned they made them stronger after that. The record used to be 3 and it was free drinks.

Oh.....TOPLESS WOMEN GET FREE DRINKS. Genuine fact.

“Back to college memories. Nothing remarkable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014 via mobile

I felt like I was back in college, there is no doubt about that. Nice, but definitely caters to the younger crowd. I didn't dare to try the green slimy signature drink - looked awful. Sun bathing dock is a nice amenity, but you can't dive or swim off there, just lay and seep on your drink.

“The best place to watch the sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

If you just hang around you meet people from around the world. Enjoy the conversations!!!
From 05:00 PM until 06:00 PM it's happy hour. But I don't understand why because people go there anyhow to watch the sunset and it is absolutely the best place on the island. We were 4 days on Caye Caulker and went there every day: I love this place!!!!!!

“The place to hang out on the island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

If you want to get a feel of the island...spend the morning hanging out at the split at the Lazy Lizard. You meet people from around the world. You can have a drink...take a dip in the water and just hang out in the sun.
