“The place to be in Caye Caulker”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

If you are going to Caye Caulker you must stop at the lazy lizard for many reasons. Not only is it the most popular spot on the Caye but they have great food and its a great place to drink. I discovered the chicken burritos one morning and ended up going back every day for them. Once your done playing in the water all day I would head back to the lizard to meet with friends and drink panty rippers. The sunsets here are beautiful and the snorkeling is pretty good, def see a good selection of fish for being so close to land and people. At night you can ask the staff to point the spot light to the mangroves and possibly see a crocodile. Seems like the fun thing to do is write your name on the wall and when you visited, def would ask the staff if its OK first just to be safe. This place is def high on the places to go on Caye Caulker.

“Its the place to go!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Sunset is beautiful at the Split, and the food is good, the service is great. If you don't make it to the Split you haven't been to Caye Caulker. Swim, snorkel, people watch, even have massage there. Drinks are good and the beer is cold.

“Fun at the Split!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

You kinda have to be here to comprehend the place, but it's kind of like the island bar at the end of the world. Very popular tourist/party/sun/swim/snorkel place. Teeter totter chairs in the water, very good drink specials, lots of people watching and uncommon ocean critters to check out. Just go there!

“you end up here everyday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

This is the place where everyone goes just about every single evening. You come up to the spit to watch the sunset and just hang out with everyone. Usually meet up with all the new friends here and then plan the rest of the night from here. I like sitting here in the early morning when no one else is around, if you come to the island I can guarantee you wont be able to miss this place.

“Decent food, unbeatable location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

The food here is certainly above average, though maybe not the best the island has to offer. You can eat cheap, a really large chicken burrito for $5bz, or you can also order more expensive menu items, like whole lobsters, nachos, sandwhiches, etc. The bar staff was friendly to us and our young children while we hung out, swam, and ate lunch. Really, as far as location goes, this could be the best place to have lunch on the island
