I have just returned from 6 weeks in Belize . We started off in Caye Caulker and for the first couple of nights stayed at a small hotel near the water taxi jetty .
This hotel was ok but had no beach to speak of & no pool or anywhere to sit outside . It cost us$140 per night .
We looked round the island for a better hotel and after viewing several , we decided on The Island Magic resort . This hotel was actually cheaper than the small place we had been staying in and was much much better . The main difference was the pool and the facilities which were great . We liked it that much that after our travels through Belize north & south we stayed here 5 weeks later for our last week . in Belize .
If I ever return to Caye Caulker this is the place for me .

I first met the Saldivars when they were first preparing to open Island Magic. I told them I brought many groups to the island on a regular basis but especially in the summer months and always looking for someone willing to work with groups. It is not an easy task at best and what a joy it is to find someone willing to work with you. They and their staff have been super to our groups unlike some of the other hotels I have dealt with in the 20+years I have been going to the island and taking groups. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and besides. when is the last time you saw crown molding even in the U.S. hotels let alone in Belize. Some of the people that say it is "OK" s need to return and this take off your glasses and take a good look around. I can always get someone if I need them, either Alina or one of the staff if it is afterhours because I know things don't always happen at opportune times. IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED ISLAND MAGIC RESORT HOTEL, YOU ARE MISSING A TREAT.
Blessings,
Elizabeth H.

Room tip: My personal favorite is Room 3 downstairs though I have stayed in all the downstairs rooms on several occasions. Have not stayed upstairs.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Caye Caulker is a laid back place, pretty basic and a little dishevelled but has a little charm of its own. You wont find luxury or 5 stars here so be prepared for something more basic. Island magic itself was OK, nothing fancy, reasonable pool which provided a welcome cool down on hot days and a nice bar facing out onto the water. Staff were quite helpful and the hotel is in a good location. I wouldn't rush back but overall enjoyed my brief trip to CC and Island Magic

Room tip: Ask for one with outdoor hammock balcony facing the sea.

This was our second time to Caye Caulker. We loved the property, grounds well manicured, including out on the beach. Loved the hammock on our balcony. Great swimming pool area with lounge chairs and covered areas if you wanted to keep out of sun. Between pool and beach was a bar/snack bar. Vicky (bartender) brought our drinks out to pool and Mary served up some excellent food. Both very friendly and engaging, made us feel at home. Clean well appointed room which included flat screen tv, cable, a kitchen complete with refrigerator, dishes, microwave,coffee/coffeemaker, pots and pans, etc. Defintely will stay here next time.

There are so many reviews describing the amenities of this fantastic little hotel, Island Magic! I will only add my personal experiences that my husband and I shared over the past few days on Caye Caulker and while staying at Island Magic. We usually stay in Belize for 30 days at a time...to explore what may be our future retirement locale. We wanted to go back to Caye Caulker and actually spend a night there and take in "the feel of this adorable island." We happened upon Island Magic Resort and chose to stay there because of their AC in rooms and the Pool and Bar onsite! We really wanted to just relax! Hubby works in Afghanistan most of the time...so relaxing and having easy access to everything was what we were looking for. WE Found It! From the minute we walked into the office we were greeted by two beautiful women with engaging smiles and instant customer service :-) Our room was perfect! Mini kitchenette with full fridge..awesome! AC worked so well and we were thankful..it was HOT all week here! We truly enjoyed just relaxing at this resort hotel instead of touring all over the island, as we had been there before on day trips and were worn out. We were looking for a retreat and this place offered it all! Vicki and Mary worked the food and Bar on the beach side....let me tell you...best food we had was at their bar!~ We enjoyed the large pool and relaxed on the upper deck while viewing the reef in the distance. We met a few other really nice travelers, fishermen and made friends everywhere we went! We truly had a magical stay here and will return again and again! Thank you all for a memorable time!
