“Great stay at Sea Dreams”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My wife and I stayed here in April 2012 and had an awesome time. Great people running the place and very accommodating. The breakfasts were good, the room was good-very clean and they had bikes you could borrow to visit the places on the strip.

Sea Dreams has the best location on the island: they're about 30 seconds from The Split, they have their own private dock area, and all the bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance (although the latter is probably true for the majority of hotels/hostels on this tiny island!). The tastefully decorated rooms are extremely clean, with quiet air conditioning, fans, and strong, hot showers- and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever had, by a long shot! We stayed in the low season so we paid low season rates- overall it was fantastic value and I highly recommend it :)

We stayed at Sea Dreams at the end of a lovely trip to Belize. We wanted to end the trip with something really special, so we splurged on the Orchid Cabana. While not inexpensive, totally worth the cost for the ambience and the experience. The cabana is perfectly sized, with a full kitchen with a basic dishes/pots set up, and a fridge stocked with beer. The bed was crazy comfortable as well. We spent several afternoons on the hammocks on the front porch/deck.

The private dock is really special. One of the only good swimming spots we saw on the island. We swam across the split one day and saw the most amazing sunset complete with a ray jumping across the horizon another day.

We loved everyone that works at Sea Dreams. Aida cooked us the best breakfasts and made awesome cocktails for happy hour! Anna was really friendly and helpful too

Added bonus is it's only a quick hop to the Split for sunset cocktails. The free bikes make it super easy to get anywhere on the island.

Can't recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to go back.

Just back from my second trip the this lovely Island destination and a great stay at Sea Dreams . The staff Stacey , Anna ,Aida and the owners Haywood and Heidi could not have been more friendly . Aida cooks such a nice breakfast to get your day started and then pours a mean"Panty Ripper " at the new 3 floor open bar ,complete with Hammocks and a covered Palapa in the afternoon . Each of the staff know Belize really well and can direct you to a fun day trip to the mainland or a relaxing day in Caulker. Bikes and a canoe come with the room which is awesome.. the rooms are very comfortable and safe , screens would make it easier to have no ac and the window open as I like to save electricity . They press their high end cotton sheets and even had fresh flowers , free water and a fridge with beer and soda in the room . The bay side dock and palapa make for wonderful swimming and dramatic sunsets and the grounds are beautiful centered around a large Banyan tree .. Haywood is an accomplished fly fisherman and guide if Bone , Permit , or tarpon are your fancy and is available as a guide during your stay . He also owns Anglers Abroad which has a store in case you need that special Fly....Yes I will stay here again soon...

Room Tip: no swimming pool , but who needs one with a backyard bathtub -ocean like they have and you get plent...

We arrived at Caye Caulker with no reservation and got taken to here. It wasnt the cheapest place but it included a/c and breakfast. The location was very good as only a short walk to the main area but far enough away to have no noise. They offered free bikes and canoe so you could travel round the small island for free.

The breakfast was small but tasty which you eat on the top of the hotel with the rising sun. They also have their own pontoon which was needed as there are no real beaches here. Again was amazing as we lazed on the beach chairs and had occasional swims and used the canoes. The service was amazing and the owner was extremely helpful. Would love to come back here again...

My daughter and I decided on a travel adventure to Belize just a few weeks prior to going, and chose Sea Dreams as our "home away from home." We couldn't have been more pleased. It is charming, clean, and comfortable. Amenities include air conditioning, free wi-fi in the rooms, a small refrigerator stocked with drinks, and a wonderful breakfast on the rooftop patio every morning. Another plus was the rack full of bikes hotel guests could use for getting around the island. Then there are the owners and the staff, who are the most welcoming and helpful people you could ever meet! The office staff were extremely knowledgeable and well-connected in setting up side trips for the day. The owners are incredibly friendly and caring people, who have been instrumental in starting up a high school on Caye Caulker. Prior to this, high school wasn't accessible for many, available only on the mainland. Amazing energy! Sea Dreams is a memorable place with memorable people, and I would love to go back ASAP!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Sea Dreams Hotel is a family-run boutique hotel on the quaint island of Caye Caulker. We are located at the north end of the village which affords a three-sided view of the Caribbean Sea. Guests quickly become part of the Sea Dreams family: eating breakfasts with Iris on our thatch-covered rooftop, picking up fishing tips from Haywood on our dock, planning excursions with Anna, Stephanie or Kelly learning about island education with Heidi, enjoying impeccable housekeeping services from Maria Elena & Melanie, or enjoying a tropical drink with Celia at our Banyan Tree Bar. Our dock, located on the leeward edge of the split, is the entry into a unique slice of paradise: perfectly clear and calm, chest-deep, turquoise water with a white sandy bottom. Every evening, guests watch the sun melt into these waters and cast pastel shades across the skies. When guests are not diving, snorkeling, fishing, kite boarding, or touring Mayan ruins, they relax at the hotel with a drink at the bar, a massage at the spa, a book in a hammock, or a canoe ride to feed the local Tarpon. Accommodations range from intimate courtyard rooms to one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, cabana, and home. Amenities include free bicycles, canoe, hot breakfast, WIFI, AC, cable TV, bottled water, and snorkeling gear. ... more   less
