“Good, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2009

We ate here once. The price is good..like 15USD.
We preferred Rose's. This is just a shack on the road. Rose's is a restaurant with an assortment of side choices, and drink choices. Rose's also gives you a choice of the size of your lobster.
Roger is a really nice man tough and I wish him well.

“The lobsters were dry and the rum was too diluted”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2009

We had a $20 BZ deal that included a lobster tail, 3 drinks and dessert. The meal was unimpressive. Our lobsters were too dry and the rum was pretty diluted.

“Overrated, Small Helpings, Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2009

The food is decent enough, but the helpings are small, especially in Belize. We got about 8 forkfuls of rice, similar amount of creamed potatoes, a tiny piece of fish, a piece of garlic bread, a watered down rum punch and a sliver of chocolate cake for $25 BZ. When you consider that you can have two meals at the Tropical Paradise for that and the food is more substantial and better, do what we didn't and avoid Jolly Roger.

He will try and trap you with his jovial banter but down fall for it. It is much better elsewhere.

“best lobster deal in caulker”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2008

Jolly Roger's price can't be beat - $10 US for lobster, coconut rice, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, piece of cake, and three tiny rum drinks. Tasty and filling, right in the middle of the action. Definitely a carbo-load, but definitely yum and Roger is super friendly.

“Fresh Lobster Grilled On The Beach: Unbeatable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2008

My wife and I arrived at Caye Caulker intending to stay for two days; this quickly became three, then four, and finally a whole week. We stayed because we couldn't imagine better ocean views, a more relaxed atmosphere... or better, fresher food.

Strolling down the beach, you will probably run into a round, jolly guy named Roger who will invite you to try his grilled lobster. It's caught that same day, brought directly to his grill, and grilled to perfection. Don't pass it up! The spot really has character; there's no building, it's just Roger and his grill, and his picnic tables (under a roof, don't worry) The ocean is a stone's throw away. We ended up eating there four different nights, meeting other travelers and swapping stories as we dug into amazing lobster. You get two lobster tails, as well as three free drinks, a side of rice, gravy, and cake. At US $10, it's unbeatable. If you stay long enough, you might learn that his sister, Fran, has a similar grill right down the road! (you won't learn this from him, though!)
