While we enjoyed our stay in San Pedro tremendously, and found the accomodations at Caye Casa comfortable and convienent, we had significant and unfomfortable difficulty with the billing situation. The propriator requested the trip paid in advance, but did not charge the full amount to the credit card we gave her. Nor did she mention to us while we were there (for 6 days) that we had an unpaid balance. A week after our return home, we recieved our first and only notice of the outstanding blanace, in the form of a wildly out-of-line personal email, accusing us of defrauding her, and threatening to write to our workplaces for retribution. The situation was cleared up easily, as we legitimatly owed her the money and we were happy to pay. But the threat and the personal attack make me hesitant to recommend the guest house to anyone.

We started our honeymoon at Caye Casa and were thrilled. Captain Boxter met us at the water taxi and made us feel right at home. Julie took great care of us and we adopted her dog Rosie as our own. The cottage was well decorated and homey - with an air conditioner that really could make the bedroom cold! We had plenty of towels, despite what an earlier reviewer said. We spent most of our time on the patio looking at the beautiful beach and water. It is a perfect place to relax and wind down.

It is only a 10 minute walk to get into town, otherwise you can enjoy being fairly secluded and left alone. Julie was a terrific resource and directed us to wonderful restaurants and to dive with Patojo. If you are looking to do your own thing and not be part of a resort or a big hotel, Caye Casa is perfect. There is a small kitchen in the cottage and a wonderful bakery around the corner. We plan on returning in the future!

We had one of the best vacations ever in San Pedro. Caye Casa was amazingly convenient to all the restaurants and tours and we even got complementary Belikan beers when we arrived! Captain Boxter was a delight. The cabanas are right on the beach. We couldn't have been happier. We'll never forget our week in paradise.

Loved the town and the country but hated the "Guest House". When I asked for another towel (had two for two people) I was told I was "picky" by the owner. No maid service. Had to haul our bedding to the laundramat. Only two cushions for eight guests. We have never felt so "UN-welcome", anywhere. Paid top dollar for budget accomodations. Even the lowest priced hotels in San Pedro have daily maid service, towels, and are VERY friendly.
Amazing, wonderful, friendly, warm town. Considering moving there for a few months a year. Just do NOT recommend staying at CayeCasa Guest House.
