Tranquility bay is not cheap, not expensive. They forgot us on the airport, but we were picked up with a boat soon. A house on the beach, that's what we came for. Walk out of your house and you're on the white sandy beaches (with stinging flies.... like everywhere in Belize). And then... relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. That's what we wanted, and that's what we got. We stayed here for three days, just doing nothing at all (except snorkling). In the big bar / restaurant you can get a drink or a snack and three meals a day. No choice (just the catch of the day), not special, but nice. The chef is a very friendly and relaxed guy. I guess we were lucky, because the owners were there. They were very present, if you know what I mean (sorry for Americans, but they were typical Americans... very noisy, very impressed by themselves and only interested in you when they hear about your employment; Europeans will understand what we mean). But because of their presence, the staff was very active. I'm afraid the staff will losen up, when the owners aren't there.
When you except there's nothing to do, and you except you'll have no choice what's on the menu, and you except to pay far too much for lunch and dinner, then you'll have a great and relaxing holiday just like it's supposed to be in Belize.
