“Great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

I really loved staying there! The office help were so helpful with advise on where to go to eat , shop , snorkel, dive . And they were right on every time. It's alittle away from down town but that made it that much better. No noise of traffic or people like the hotels in town have. We went snorkeling with sharks and they picked us up right from the dock they have. Great place to stay.

80 bucks a night plus low resort fees were a huge thing for us in San Pedro. The little cottage type of rooms were about 480 sq feet of TV sitting room, a queen bed and a single bed, kitchenette with fridge, dishes and microwave, plus a bathroom. Roomy and pretty nice and comfy. We didn't pay the extra 20 bucks for air conditioning since we have a great ocean breeze in December. The room was good for the money...although we killed a cockroach the size of a teardrop chandelier crystal. The Tv stopped working the first night and by morning, the toilet wouldn't fill with water. We nicely explained the problems to management and they were taken care of immediately. Things happen...no biggie! It is about as far south from the excitement of town as you want to get...a 30 minute walk on the beach or a 30 minute golf cart ride on the streets. Don't miss the Island Time restaurant on the premises...good food!
DON'T rent golf carts from them. We had number 15 and paid 55 bucks for a full day (supposedly cheaper than others). We had no brakes...I mean NONE and no lights...which we didn't realize until on our way home at midnight that night...and shocks...none! The manager argued that maybe we caused those problems but backed down when I stood up to him. The next night he offered us a go cart for free to take into town to get dinner for free...although that was nice and #12 is a better cart...renter beware! I think they try to keep you happy but sometimes you have to insist!

The location is a good walk from the center of town. We didn't mind being away from the noise and pollution. We had access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. that were maybe 5 to 10 mins away. The restaurant next to the hotel was pretty good and well priced. We had two meals there and they were both good. We did not get to use the pool or sit outside by the waters because we were out on tours all the time, but the grounds were clean and well kept. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The golf cart rental at the hotel appeared to be half the price of other golf cart rental places - we used it to explore the island and thought it was a lot of fun. The rooms were comfy and spacious. The price was also really good compared to other places. We knew we were not going to be in the room a whole lot - just for sleeping so we were not looking for a fancy place. This place was good enough for our purposes. The only reason why 4 stars is the room was a little dusty because it was slow season and no one appeared to have used it in awhile. The towels also had some small leftover old stains and there was no shampoo, just soap so make sure you have your toiletries. Overall, still a nice stay at a great price!

Room Tip: Free wifi in the lobby - not in the rooms, but perfect to just check on a few emails and then get go...

We have just spent 5 nights at the Royal Caribbean Resort and really enjoyed it. Before we arrived, Almira called to give us advice on travelling to San Pedro and what tours we could do there. The cabanas are very spacious and are cleaned daily. We loved relaxing by the pool and on the quiet beach and were never disturbed by anyone. The Island Time bar had fantastic food (we ate the specials for lunch every day), well-priced drinks and all the bar staff were great. I would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a relaxing stay out of the town (which is easily accessible by a 5 min taxi away)!

Our experience at this Resort was wonderful. Everyone very helpful. Beautiful view of ocean and a great dock. Make sure you bring your own hair dryer the one from the office was not very good. The wind dried my hair better than the blow dryer. The cottages were comfortable and clean. Maintenance and house cleaning folks were great. We spent time visiting with both. "Island Time" is the bar restaurant adjacent to property fantastic place to spend time. Lewis and Alder were not only our bartenders they became our friends. Also met many other travelers and locals at the bar. Rainy season bring your bug spray they like our virgin flesh.
Belize is a fantastic place to vacation maybe even live and the Belizian people are amazing.
We will be back and would recommend this resort.

First of all, I love Belize. The resort is a great place to come unwind and let the worries of life go out the window. The beaches are amazing, my favorite part about it was being able to sit on the private beach and open up a book and not be bothered by anyone for hours. They also have off season rates to save you quite a bit.

The positive: The staff was friendly and the complex is located in a nice location. It certainly has potential, but is far from reaching it at this juncture in my opinion.

The negative: Unfortunately, this list is fairly long.

We arrived in the middle of the day and even though the sign on the door said open, the office was closed. There was a sign on the door with a local phone number to call in case of an emergency, but that would be an international call for us. Fortunately, another guest had a local phone and made the call for us.

When we first turned on the water in the restroom, it came out brown.

They turned off the water twice during our visit without any prior notification whatsoever. It was not turned back on until we went to the office and said something about it.

There were several covers missing from electrical outlets which presented a fire hazard.

Several outlets did not work at all.

There were no smoke detectors.

The water pressure in the shower is almost nonexistent. It was impossible to rinse all of the shampoo from your hair or adequately rinse the soap off of your body.

The bar tenders associated with the complex through the adjacent bar say that they know how to make certain mixed drinks, but unfortunately do not.

There is grass growing between the pavers spread throughout the complex; the hedges are not being maintained; and the grass needs to be mowed.

The front door is not sealed. There were cracks on each side, as well as the bottom. And while this would have normally not been that big of an issue, it was during our stay because of the mosquitoes. Apparently we visited during the rainy season which brings tons of mosquitoes to the area.

Just for reference, there is no stove top or anyway to cook anything outside of the small microwave in the kitchen.
