“Quiet and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

The best part of this resort is Almira at the reception office. She was very helpful and knowledgable about the San Pedro area. We seldom vacation and when we do its the usual all inclusive. This was a great way to explore restaurants and how to get around the San Pedro area. There is a large pool and a small bar on site. The beaches in San Pedro are mostly sea grass but this beach is a bit neglected. The resort was not crowded we seldom saw anybody. The cabanas are large and have well equipped kitchens. If you require a night life rent a golf cart and go into town. If you crave quiet this is for you.

We stayed here for ten days and had a great time. Place is out of town so not much noise and partying happening thru the late night hours. There is a bar on site, great bartender and he makes 'GREAT', rum punch. Pool was wonderful too. Office staff are very friendley and helpful. Rooms are neat, clean and around a very safe place to stay. I would stay here again. Such a beautiful area. Nancy & Rick.

The Resort is a 10 minute drive from towncenter, but it's set nicely on the beach (which is a bit neglected, while the neighboring resorts clean their beaches, this one has a lot of sea grass.) The bungalows are very big with a comfortable matrace and a Kitchen. The Hotel had a big pool, but no Restaurant or bar for the evening. The reception closes at 7 PM and opens around 8 AM, so make sure you manage whatever in time. They help you organize Tours (snorkeling etc.). Overall the price we payed (about 100 Euros per night) seemed a bit high for the standard of the whole place.

Located at mile 2 from centre if town. Quarter mile to any food. Prefab individual cabins. Not as bad as some reviews say. Only cabins 1.15.29 have beach views. Large pool facing beach but didn't try. Wireless Internet at reception area or from rooms near reception and away from beach. Beachfront has strip of sand but lots of debris at least at low tide. Shower does have hot and cold but pressure is low. Aircon works well.

This place was kinda like a time share with poor management - owners pay about 100K a unit then a 250.00 condo like fee, it seems the "resort" is more interested in selling these units for a profit and letting owners pay for them while their investment rots. MUCH better values with a regular hotel or private vacation home rental. The hut we rented was dirty - bed hard as a rock and furnished quite basically. It could be a cute place - but seriously must have poor management as only a few other units were booked, kinda a resort ghost town - nothing here, too far removed from town. While I give this sham a poor review I must give Ambergris caye a solid 10 stars as a vacation destination - the scuba diving was surreal - amazing - and the island a true paradise.

Room Tip: don't !

We. Booked our week stay here months ago by the So Called Resort webpage. The page is false, The pictures must be extremely old! No bowlng, no big party tiki in fact no one there the place is deserted? We had to go look for the office person on arrival. Checked in Sunday, no one sround Monday no maid, no office person no one! No other guest so far and its now Thursday too bad we prepaid this place. Bar has not been open then again how could it be the front office isnt even open, We have ants 24/7 on the floor n counter and even woke up to mouse poop on the counter this a.m. No water pressure it litterally drips out so dont plan on a nice toshwer. Actually I think the Iguana'S took over the place we have seen more of them than anything well besides the ants. we have decided to leave the Island early after wAking up mouse poop on the counter . Thanks for nothing Royal Carribean Resort? Oh yes, They fail to mention it the lagoon part of the island and the sDwamp is across the street bring your OFF spray Its mosquito infested there! I was eaten alive!

Room Tip: Do not choose here

My wife and I stayed for ten days in February. It is well South of the airport, etc., so it is quiet -- unlike many of the hotels/resorts on the main road....you just can't believe how noisy the damned golf carts can be. The snorkeling was great out at Hol Chan -- but, frankly, the snorkeling and lifestyle is much better on Caye Caulker. BTW, don't be a typical gross gringo and rent a golf cart -- the island is completely flat, so just bicycle around. 2nd traveler's tip: Many/most of the gringos get covered with bug bites. Hideously, in fact. The evening is when they get you...and it's not from sitting on the beach -- it's from sitting in the restaurants, most of which are indoor/outdoor. We saved a lot of $$ by cooking our own dinners, and we also avoided 99% of the bug bites.
