We recently stayed at the Exotic Caye for 10 days. We were with another couple and had a great time. Our rooms were the deluxe condos on the second floor and they were great! They were large with a seperate large bedroom and we had an upstairs loft and another bathroom upstairs. The floor was tiled and the whole place had a tropical feel. From the balcony you look right out to the water - It is not a four star place but not too many places on Ambregris Caye are
There is a pool which was clean and refreshing but it definitly needs work. There is a beautiful sandy beach area but unfortunetly they have not done anything to make a swimming area and they do not have any cushions on the lounge chairs making them very uncomfortable to lay on.
They have a great little place for breakfast and lunch- Monkey Bites Cafe. Great food and good prices! They also have a great bar which alot of the locals go to- Crazy Canueks Beach Bar.
We were there in May so it was not filled up but there were quite a few people there.
It is about 1/2 mile to town and easy to walk to on the beach.
You can walk to most restaurants - Wild Mangos, Cassa Picasso, Caliente to name a few were very good.
I would definitly like to have a beach area that was my main complaint about Exotic Caye but besides that I found it to be a good place to stay. It was clean, large rooms , was on the water and had a beautiful view and was central to everything.

Ambergize Caye, Belize, beautiful, lacks some amenities, such as grocery stores with variety of choices, but tolerable, Mostly a great place to spend your vacation, beach's diving, snorkel, dinning, music, beach bars, etc.

Resturants for the most part are very good, service is good, people are friendly, some lack in quality, but that is everywhere.

If you don't mind an hour to an hour and a half boat ride, the water taxi is great, prompt and on time crews are very helpful, There is air transportation as well.

We spent Sat. thru Thurs. would go back, it will be eaiser next time as we are familar with the customs, food etc., the tours are out of this world,

Highly recommend a visit to Ambergize Caye, as I travel considerably with my company it is a pretty easy trip, connections were good.

If you want a laid-back, very convenient, extremely friendly and helpful 'sand-between-your-toes' island beach holiday, you will love Exotic Caye as much as we did!

Our '2 bed suite' was spacious and well-equipped for the 4 of us, and everything was sufficient for what we wanted, including a good, hot shower. The air con worked well; (worth noting that the second
'bedroom' is a mezzanine and only has a fan tho', and the second bathroom is in fact only a sink and toilet - but that worked fine for us as a family of 4).

It was very clean, nicely furnished, and easily meets it's 2* rating.
It's so nicely laid-out, and a small site, so you can easily keep an eye on the kids from anywhere. We practically lived in the pool, and the beach is cleaned (of the ubiquitous seaweed) daily, and has plenty of shade and lovely hammocks and sunbeds. The dive dock is so helpful and friendly, the Crazy Canukes is just a dream 'beach bar' -just like Cheers, but with a palapa and Caribbean backdrop!. The guys
at the Exotic Caye could not have been more helpful to us. Best of all, everyone - both locals and tourists - was so, so friendly that we just had a fantstic holiday!

If you want a 5* Spa Hotel, don't come here - book a 5* Spa. If you want a great beach holiday that you'll enjoy with friends and family...see you there!

We read many reviews and really wanted to stay at Ramon's but Exotic Caye worked great for us. The room is a 1 bedroom apartment. There is a dorm style fridge, stove, toaster oven and all the utensils you need. Great view, easy walk to town. We were going to rent a golf cart but once we figured out how quick/easy it was to town we chose not to. It was nice to have a pool, not every hotel has one. Monkey Bites was great for breakfast and I think they were the ones doing the cookouts at night at our favorite bar Crazy Kanuk's. The only negative there was an ant problem around the stove. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return.
