“Great Spring Break Destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

Background:
three college students stayed in a single, lower-level room for 7 nights for Spring Break in March 2012.

Consensus:
1) Price:
Well worth the money. No complaints.

2) The room:
Spacious and clean, with every amenity we needed. The maids came daily and replaced the towels and made the beds. The room was a perfect size for the three of us. Our room was set up with a queen-sized bed in a bedroom, a living room with two couches that both doubled as queen pullouts, and a full kitchen that was connected to the living room. For reference, we were in the room 5A.

3) Location:
The location was superb for what we were doing, which was predominately scuba diving in the morning and relaxing by the pool (and especially the swim-up pool bar...) in the afternoon. Because a major dive shop ("Tuff E Nuff Tours") is situated on the Belizean Shores' dock/pier, it was literally a 45 second walk from my room to their door. Tuff E Nuff not only did scuba tours, but also was able to make us accommodations for other onshore activities. Whenever we wanted to leave the resort to go into town, there was an easy water taxi that only cost 5 USD and took 5 minutes. I am happy that we chose to stay a little bit outside of San Pedro, because even though we sometimes got the 'resort price' at other restaurants and places nearby on the beach, the safety/comfort factor was a very nice thing to have late at night, because the city gets sketchy in parts at night. The resort also had security patrolling the premises at night for added protection.

4) Demographic of other visitors:
As college students, we were definitely at the young end of the spectrum of clientele. There was frankly a little bit of everything though, from families with kids, to older folks just looking to live it up. Everybody was friendly. Also, never did I feel like there were too many people at the resort.

5) The pool:
Although, as college students, we did frequent the bar daily, the atmosphere around the pool was one of relaxation; it certainly was not a rowdy crowd. That is not to say that many of the other visitors weren't willing to do the occasional shot with us though. The pool itself is awesome, and was a huge selling point on why we chose this resort. We were not let down. The layout is conducive to letting the different types of clients do as they please without getting in the way of others. For example, the main area of the pool is separated from a back, deeper area (where the pool bar resides), by two channels of water. Though you can easily go back and forth between the two without exiting the water, I found that these narrowed areas acted as a natural barrier between the large part of the pool, where the families resided, and where those who were drinking stayed. We spent a LOT of time in the pool and have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. The hot tub also rocks.

6) The staff:
Friendliest people you will ever meet. If anyone has ANYTHING poor to say about the employees at the Belizean Shores, I will be extremely surprised. We had flawless service.

Overall:
I've never been a big fan of resorts but the Belizean Shores absolutely changed my mind. This resort rocks and I would go back in a heartbeat. I have no critiques to give the resort and highly recommend it to everyone. It is a fabulous place.

We spent an entire week at Belizean Shores over spring break and every member of our family wants to go back. Everything about our stay there was perfect. From the staff who met us at the dock upon our arrival to the front desk staff, the pool staff, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff....every single person who works for this resort was friendly and helpful. Marianne, the manager of the resort, was remarkable in adding her personal touch to everything; she attended to every need during our stay, remembering always to follow up on each request to be sure that we were satisfied. This is a relatively small resort with a very intimate feel to it; after a few days, all the faces at the resort are familar and everyone knows everyone.

Other highlights are listed below:

1. The pool, which is centrally located, is fantastic for both kids and adults. The water temperature was perfect and the pool was kept impeccably clean at all times. There is a swim-up bar in the deeper end of the pool and both food and drinks can be ordered from here. For kids, it was especially fun to order child-friendly drinks (the "King Kong" was a favorite of many kids during our stay) and sit at the stools with families. Milton, one of the bartenders, was especially friendly and fun to talk with.
2. The hot tub, in the center of the pool. It was easy to access from both the swimming pool and the ground-level of the bar area and the water was wonderfully hot!
3. The pool is open 24 hours a day, with quiet hours from 8pm - 8am. My kids loved this, since they want to be in the water all the time.
4. The easy access to the beach, with the dock just in front of the resort, was wonderful. Watching the beautiful sunrises from the dock (or even the chairs on the beach) was a breathtaking experience (see attached picture). It was fun to walk and run along the beach; the views were spectacular from every vantange point and we always felt safe.
5. The kitchens in the units were wonderfully equipped. We actually cooked most of our meals during our stay, enjoying eating on the patio with a view of the pool and the sea. The staff was very helpful with recommending places to buy groceries (we loved Marte Grande, a small store on Ambergris Caye, where food can be ordered online, by phone - the hotel staff will call in an order for you, or by going to the store itself, which is just under a mile north of Belizean Shores).
Overall, this resort stands out for it's friendly staff who are committed to excellent personal service and the amazing views of the ocean and beach. We are definitely planning to travel to Belizean Shores again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a second story room; the view of the pool and the ocean from the balcony was divine. It...

This was our 3rd stop of a 14 day, first trip to Belize. We took the water taxi from Belize City. It was an interesting and beautiful thing to experience. The locals are very friendly. The taxi service, ticketing, boarding, loading, unloading, very efficient. When we arrived at San Pedro, we transferred to a smaller taxi for our transfer to Belizean Shores Resort. Upon arrival, Mary Ann greeted us at the dock with Rum punch. After a brief orientation, we were in our beautiful villa. The scenic view was oceanfront, overlooking the swim up pool bar, we found it to be very inviting. We spent a great deal of time there during our stay. Damen and William provided excellent customer service. We loved our villa and spent some time just relaxing on the patio as the views are fabulous. The oceanfront is clean and swept each morning. Hammocks and chairs are all around the property for convenience.

We traveled by water taxi to San Pedro one evening, did some shopping, dining, drinking. Very busy populated area. We left at night and took a water taxi back to the resort. I never felt unsafe. The driver was very capable and communicated well.

The sister property “Coco Plum” has a beautiful pool space. Take advantage of the amenity and enjoy it. My husband went fishing for a day with another guest and a local. He enjoyed the experience. He brought back a catch of fish that we asked the kitchen to prepare for us. They did an excellent job! I went with an in-villa Swedish massage. A fun day! One dinner experience is a must - Aji. Love, love, loved the evening atmosphere. It’s worth the walk.

This was a beautifully appointed resort with all the amenities of home. The customer service is impeccable. I would highly recommend this resort as it will meet all your expectations. Remote, yet close enough to be tourists easily when it strikes you.

Room Tip: Get the upper villas - better views of the ocean

Anybody who knows San Pedro knows that it can be busy busy, but if you want to be on the island but get away from it all, and you want to splash out and treat yourself then you cannot beat Belizean Shores.

They'll pick you up, take you to their boat, whisk you along to their jetty where you will be greeted by smiles and rum punch. The rooms are well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The pool is great for children and adults alike and their hot tub jacuzzi is very popular especially in the evenings.

There is also a tennis court, a basketball court and a playground for the children. If you don't want to venture far the restaurant on site has a great menu and the food, along with being comparable for San Pedro, is very very tasty.

We all had a fantastic time

Room Tip: The only odd thing is being in a downstairs apt, the entrance to upstairs is at the side of your bal...

The 'room' was more like a condo! We wanted to move in full time! :) Super friendly staff, clean and very well kept grounds, an amazing pool, r/o water, great food at the restaurant, and super quiet. This place was well worth the money. The only 'complaint' we had was that the bar was stingy with their alcohol. They actually weigh their bottles at the end of the day!!!! Lighten up owners, it's the Caribbean!!!!!! :) :)

Room Tip: We really likes the upstairs room, as we could keep the place WIDE open!

My stay at the Belizean Shores was one of the most memorable travel experiences I can rember. San Pedro is a very special place and the Belizean Shores Resort is the gem!

The grounds are beautiful and the accomodations are fabulous. Marianne, Guest Service Manager and the resort staff was truly one of a kind; very helpful, personable and kind. They made my girlfriends and I feel as if we were the only guests at the resort, even though it was full.

Thank you for making for making our vacation so special! Planning a trip back soon!

Staff was awesome, our unit 1d was right on ocean as promised. Marianne at desk, William at pool bar, Elder at restaurant were all very attentive and personable. Kitchen in our unit very outdated and we had ants, but not a major problem. Wi-fi not good the farther away from front desk your unit is. We had a great time and will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.
