“Lacklustre, the "rough" part of a Rough Guides recommendation”

Stayed for 3 nights. The place is less than a minute's walk from the San Pedro airport. Room #3 is painted a weak muddy blue. The plumbing in the toilet is suspect. Water pressure inadequate in the commode. No one came to have a look even after I mentioned it to the office staff. Shower pressure is good. There was both hot/cold water.

The housekeeping lady was quite communicative and chirpy. They sell beer at the office, which is great. There is a deli opposite the hotel called Celi's which serves coffee and mince pies for breakfast. Check it out.

San Pedro is at best a 2 day stay. I would pick a different hotel if I come back here.

If you are looking for a great place to stay whiling being able to save this is a great choice. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Ruby's, we are diving so the location was important but we were comfortable in the room it was clean and was right in town. The staff is very kind and friendly while we stayed there.

Room Tip: Excellent view, clean, great price

Recently returned from San Pedro. We went down there without a place booked because we wanted to get a better idea of the town before committing to anything. This was the first place we stopped in at and we immediately fell in love. It's right on the beach with a great little cafe downstairs. Our room faced the street not the beach but we could walk from our room onto a shared balcony area that overlooked the beach. It was awesome! Ruby's is right on the water with it's own beach space and beach chairs. They have a great shack right next to the beach space that offers cold drinks. Ruby's was only about a three minute walk from the water taxi drop off which was perfect! Great place to check out and very very reasonably priced.

I love this little hotel. Right on the beach, basic, friendly, clean and well priced. The rooms have beds, bedside tables, wardrobe, fans. No tv, but free internet. If you want luxury, this is not for you. If you want to sleep cheap, and spend your hard earned dollars on activities in San Pedro, rather than your lodgings, Ruby's is great! I have been back time and again, to these friendly people. 3 of us in one room for less than $50usd...great value!
Thanks to all!
Jenni Markey, April 6th 2015.

Room Tip: Great views, ask for front balcony.

We didn't pay much to stay at this great hotel in San Pedro. Since the beginning the staff were very friendly with us. The location is perfect if you're a diver because it is right in front of the beach and very close to centre town. Rooms are ok, but they have everything you need.

This was one of the cheapest places I found in San Pedro which isn't saying much as I paid almost $40 a night for a very basic room with fan. $40 a night might not seem very much but I was paying $20+ for something lovely in Cate Caulker, hence my disappointment.

The living area (if you can call it that)is devoid of any character. Thank goodness I was only staying one night on my way to Mexico.
