**Must haves at this location: ceviche, fry jacks (order the "Belizean Breakfast"), and the watermelon juice cocktail**

We got married at this location and it was very pretty. Small, clean beach on location with comfortable lounge chairs and a long dock to swim off of. Staff is fantastic, very accommodating, and friendly. Ingrid is the best! The restaurant is reasonable in price and excellent in quality and we often found ourselves eating there out of choice rather than necessity. The room was one of the lower priced on their list but it was of great value. Large tiled floors that housekeeping sweeps and mops daily, a king-sized bed that was actually comfortable, a walk-in closet, a safe to keep valuables, a modest yet very clean bathroom with a regular (American) sized shower. There was a small television with many channels available but we weren't in the room enough to watch it.

I looked at many hotels on Ambergris Caye before choosing this place. It's definitely affordable and comfortable. My room was very clean and the maid staff did an excellent job. The A.C. was too cold before I turned up the temp! It lacks some of the amenities the other hotels offer however I never really missed them. I came to the island to relax and dive on the reef and Banana Beach served my purposes very well. It's a bit of a hike to San Pedro but there's plenty of cabs available to take you into town. The restaurant on the property "El Divino" serves the best ceviche on the island. I tried nearly everything on the menu during the eight days I was there and never had anything bad. The food is actually quite good and I'm from a city that has some great restaurants. (Las Vegas) There is excellent security on the property day and night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant experience for my first trip to Ambergris Caye.

When we first checked in we were extremely disappointed with the courtyard room. One a/c for the bedroom and living room so it was VERY hot. The lamps had no place to plug in and the lamp shade was cracked and broken. We were able to upgrade to the "A" building and were happy with that, although we had to pay the diff. Pools are nice. Restaurant was good, staff very nice and helpful. Would we stay there again? Only in the "a" building, which we believe are condos that are for sale. Probably good value for the price. There was a coffee maker and a TV in the living room and bedroom. Sitting on the deck was great.

When you are in the tropics, looking at the beautiful Caribbean, and relaxing at water's edge with a rum punch, how can you be overly concerned about your lodgings? We just completed a wonderful 7 night stay in a very affordable and comfortable accommodation. Although not a sparkling new facility, it more than satisfied this pair of seasoned travelers. Our 1 bedroom ocean front suite with kitchenette was very reasonably priced, had a comfortable bed, lots of room, ice-cold air conditioning, decent bathroom facilities, and access right to the beach. What more could anyone want?

The Banana Beach staff was absolutely great. Period. From fixing the remote on the TV, to bringing in an extra pillow, everything they did was with a smile, and they made us feel special. This is not all that common in the states, but in San Pedro, we found this to be the standard, regardless of where we were or what we were doing. A friend stayed here at B.B. about 2 years ago, and had exactly the same experience. And we both love the place. It's about 1.5 miles from downtown San Pedro, so rent a golf cart or get a cab or stretch your legs if you want. Did I mention that it's quiet here?
