My wife and I have stayed at the Blue Tang for the past five Januarys (2004-2008) and have reserved again for 2009. As old San Pedro hands (this past trip marked our 10th visit), we think the Blue Tang combines great location, creature comforts, and helpful staff in a very unique way. The view from any balcony is superb, the Caribbean Sea in all its changing moods and natures. The staff of Fannie, Allen, Eddie, Eric, and Pablo is already to help with arranging sidetrips, information on local events such as beach BBQs, or fetching a ripe coconut to sample (ask Eddie). The cleaning staff is efficient and always unobtrusive. With kitchens in every unit, guests can save money by preparing some meals in their room and supermarkets are within easy walking distance. The nearby docks allow easy access for swimming and snorkeling if you're tired of a boat ride out to the reef. I have even caught feisty barracuda and jacks off the docks and have seen snook swim by. The Tang, as we call it, is like most of old San Pedro, a very comfortable place to escape winter and enjoy the Belizean experience. Most highly recommended!

What an experience! This was my first time in Belize, but it won't be the last. The property is set right on the beach with a great view and friendly people. You can sit on the rooftop at night and overlook the water - what a view. You are close to everything, but not too close where it becomes noisy. The staff and locals were always friendly and accomodating. They helped set up our tours from snorkeling to ziplining - it was a blast and I highly recommend it. If you get the chance, I would make sure to visit San Pedro and the Blue Tang! Thank you for everything.

Having stayed at Blue Tang Inn several times previously and currently here; I could not help noticing the comments from (th1world, Salt Lake City) as being some negative remarks when most of the other remarks are very uplifting and complimentary. Having been to at least a dozen other island destinations in the Carribean, I must say that for the dollar you spend and the amennities afforded at Blue Tang, the value is there! The rooms, facility, proximity to town are all good and the housekeeping is much above average. I do not know what the author of the above mentioned critique is thinking you get for a given dollar in the Caribbean, but your half price idea of value will get you just that and much less. Do not dissappoint yourself in the future: stay at home! Blue Tang Inn is a very cost effective accommodation with a super friendly staff and great location. A proper value for a great place to stay!

The Blue Tang in Ambergris Caye, Belize is situated on the beach, with blue carribean stretching out in front of you. The rooms are roomy and clean, with kitchenette equipted for in-room cooking/dining. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels daily.
Staff was very friendly, helpful, approachable. Guests were friendly and casual. Room rate was acceptable for the area. The pier in front of the property has a fun bar called Wet Willie's, with friendly staff.
Beach in front is really not inviting for swimming, public uses this area and it had discarded clothes and bottles. A second pier was used by local kids for hanging out and jumping into the water. But, water is clear and big rays can be seen.
Top deck at Blue Tang is one of the highest points in the local area, good place to sit with cocktail and watch moon come up/down.
We will return, mostly because of the warm friendly staff and cost effective rooms.
