We have been to Belize River Lodge about five times over the course of 12 years!
What strikes me most is that the very high standards and personal attention provided to its guests has not waivered a smidge. We have had the opportunity to stay at many lodges within and outside the US and to date I still judge all against the highest standards of Belize River Lodge. The atmosphere that the owners and staff create is extraordinary!
The fishing has never failed us there either. An important benefit is the option of fishing the flats or the Belize River. Wind on the flats can be a factor for us, and we love the alternative of motoring up the Belize River, passing monkeys, birds, flowers to continue our fishing for tarpon and snook as far as Black Creek. Our guides were very knowledgeable and worked very hard to optimize our "catching" opportunities. Upon return, while the staff cares for your equipment, the comfort of your air conditioned room is a welcome respite from the Carribean sun.
We caught many fish..bones, snook, jacks and this year, we were lucky enough to jump several tarpon in the 100lb range. In October no less! Visit their website.. otherwise I will have to on and on here. It's so beautiful! We have already made plans to return next year. I think that says it for us!
