“pleasant, carefree stay for our honeymoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

my husband and I had a wonderful four night stay for part of our honeymoon. staff was incredibly friendly. Beautiful, quiet grounds right on the beach (with very little foot-traffic). this is not a 5-star resort but if you go in the off season you get wonderful service. the rooms are very clean, staff is amazing, and the location could not be better. previous reviews mention that things were stolen--- we had NO problems at all. Location was the best part of the stay.

Room Tip: ask for a beachfront room.

“Wow what a great vacation paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

My wife and I stayed at Ramon's Village Resort and had the time of our lives! The thatched roof cabanas were awesome and the close proximity to the beautiful beach at Ramon's was a delight. We went snorkeling and scuba diving from the Dive Shop at Ramon's and the guys were just great and we felt very safe diving. Special thanks to Rick at the Dive Shop for helping us with our gear! We ate at Pineapples Restaurant at Ramon's and can't say enough about how great the food was - and of course there was Jack our waiter who memorized our names at our very first breakfast at Pineapples and called us by name every time he saw us afterwards - talk about making you feel special! We loved Ramon's and loved San Pedro and can't wait to go back and visit with all of the new friends we made. Ramon's is a special place and you won't go wrong by booking your stay with them...it really is a vacation paradise!

Room Tip: The Honeymoon cabana which is right on the beach is where we stayed and it is awesome! Less than 50...

“Paradise <3”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We stayed at Ramon's for four nights. This is really a piece of paradise and perfect for honeymoons and romantic getaways. I loved our little thatched house - it was so nice and cool at night and perfect during the day. Bed was super comfy. We didn't spend too much time in the room during the day though - that's when we went out to dive and explore the island. Yes the airport is right there but honestly we didn't even notice the noise until we were awake. We felt very safe in our room, tucked into a corner of the resort - but about 50 feet from the water. The beach is cleaned and raked every morning so it was always beautiful white sand to go relax on. There are also plenty of comfortable lounges and hammocks to relax on while drinking a Purple Parrot.
It's also centrally located so you can easily walk anywhere in San Pedro. We never rented a golf cart. I wasn't too impressed with the front desk staff as he seem irritated if we had a question. I do think that charging an extra $3 a day for wifi on already expensive rooms, especially when you can go down the street to a cafe and get free wifi.
The restaurant staff was amazing - all of our waiters were great. We also met the owners and manager and they are incredibly lovely people. We pretty much had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant every day. The Coral Reef Wrap...amazing!!! My hubby was in love with the Island Burger. And the On a Stone dinner is definitely worth trying for a fun and delicious dinner.
We did a local dive with their dive shop. For a night dive and the Blue Hole we used Amigos del Mar (also highly recommended) since Ramon's didn't have enough people to go and we didn't want to risk not being able to do those dives. They did let us hang up our gear on their pier to dry and the security guard kept an eye on it for us as it was late at night. We never had an issue. The drinks at the Purple Parrot are delicious, and their little beachfront spa is lovely. Get a massage on the beach and then you'll really be in paradise. We'd definitely stay here again.

“Thanksgiving, Belizean-Style!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Our recent trip to Ramon's set the bar very high for a dive vacation!! We were completely spoiled by Turiano and Captain Andy, who knew all the best dive spots, most of which were only 10-15 minutes from the beach! Our equipment was ready and waiting for us when we arrived at the boat for each dive, and we felt very safe in their capable hands. The Ramon's staff could not have been nicer -- special shout-outs to Jack, who knew everyone's name after the first day, and Ron, a fellow fan, who made sure I was able to watch my beloved Giants play on Sunday night. By the time we left after a too-short 5 days, we felt like family and are marking the days until we can return. Only one small criticism -- the lights in the rooms work on one switch, which can be challenging if one person is a night owl and the other isn't. Bring a book light!

“Great Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

After a pleasantly uneventful flight to Ambergris Caye, we settled into our room at The resort. Immediately changed into "Island wear" an trekked back to San Pedro town
Lunch @ Ramon's Village. Feasted on Chicken nachos which were just the right combination of flavor & quantity. She had "something" HOT shrimp. Most excellent!
Nice walk, good food and a comfortable atmosphere guarantees that we will return again.
