“Amaaazing Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

My fiance and I just stayed here for 5 days right before Christmas and absolutely fell in love with the hotel. Everything from the staff to the room was perfect. Victoria House really pays attention to detail and makes sure that guests are happy. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone! You won't want to leave!!

My wife and I have not done extensive travel but we have visited many places and this by far was the best relaxing vacation ever. Belize as a whole is great place to vacation. Excellent weather, food, activities, and most importantly the people. Victoria House made this trip! The location is south of Downtown San Pedro. It is secluded from the heavy traffic area. The beach view is phenomenal. We rode our bikes up the coast and most resorts were crowded and didn't offer the type of beach we were looking for. The staff is fantastic! Everyone is personable, talkative, and willing to help and assist. I feel like I made friends with the entire staff. The landscape is beautiful and it really gives the feel of paradise. The food is so good you really don't have to leave the resort. Dinner is definitely on a 5 star level. Now I understand why so many people keep coming back to Belize and chose to stay at Victoria House.

My wife and I both have mobility issues and found that Victoria House was perfect for us. Indeed, you would never have to leave the property and still have wonderful surroundings, service and food.

We were picked up at the airport in San Pedro and immediately felt welcome. The hospitality of the staff is outstanding: they couldn't do enough for us.

The restaurant has a great menu and the kitchen is very accomodating to special requests. We especially liked the Fisherman's Soup, the Simply Prepared Grouper and the beef tenderloins.

It's easy to arrange fishing and diving execursions from the dock on the property. It was fun to watch the pelicans, rays, and eels compete for the leftovers when the fishing guides fileted the fresh catch right on the dock.

We'll surely return in the near future.

My wife and I recently stayed at Victoria House to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (Dec 5-14). We chose VH after extended research and reading different reviews on line. I am always hesitant about on line photos and reviews because many times they do not live up to expectations. I am glad to say that the resort lived up to our expectations of the grounds and the resort in general. We were there for 9 nights so we chose the infinity suite based on the size of the room for that length of stay. We could not have been happier with our choice. The suite was obviously large enough for two but was also welcoming and very clean. Living area, kitchen area, and powder bath downstairs, bedroom and bath upstairs. Also four patios to relax on if you chose. The view from our upstairs balcony facing the beach was great, ate breakfast there twice during our stay.
For ease of our trip we booked a package that included three meals a day, sunset cruise, snorkeling, and jungle cruise. Because of this we ate all but one meal at the resort and I must say the food was wonderful. Having the all day menu and the dinner menu there was always a variety to chose from. I must say that the three meals a day we pre paid for may not have been the smartest because we very seldom eat three times while we are traveling but it was nice not having to decide where we were going to eat especially after being out during the day.
High points:
Staff, in general very friendly and accommodating.
Bar staff in particular, because of Lelo, Roxy,Tony, Julio, Justin, Rick and the entire bar staff we ate every meal in the bar (with exception of the 2 in our room and one breakfast on the deck by the pool).
House keeping, room cleaned everyday, very well.
Sunset cruise, booked by the hotel and highly recommended.
Fishing, decided not to go to the jungle so exchanged that trip for fishing (paid the difference) booked by Luis in the dive shack Caught several different types of fish, brought back to hotel and after the guide cleaned them, the kitchen prepared our fresh catch for us and had it waiting at the time we requested. Fantastic meal! Ate in the bar of course.
Things you should know:
As other reviews have stated if you are looking for pristine white beaches to swim Belize might not be the place for you. If you want a great resort to relax and enjoy a slower pace for a bit, come and stay at VH. The beach at VH is just as it looks in pictures, very relaxing with nice palms for shade.
Beware of some mesquites and sand flys. Not horrible but bring bug spray for the evening. Will not keep us from coming back.
As this is my first ever review of anything, this review may seem a bit disjointed but it should also indicate how much we enjoyed our trip overall and our stay at Victoria House.

Writing this review as I'm looking out the ocean from the comfy lounge chair at the hotel beach. This is definitely one of the best places to stay in ambergris caye. Everyone is friendly here. Ground is beautiful. Food is also very good here. Dinner is a bit pricey but definitely worth it. We love this place! My husband is already planning to come back next year.

We were guests at Victoria House Nov 30 – Dec 6.

Loved it! Beautiful property. Immaculate grounds. Large, clean room with nice bath amenities.
Food quality and service in both the main restaurant (Palmilla) and the bar was outstanding. The lobster and shrimp tacos were so good we ordered them twice. Same with the lobster BLT. We ate dinner at Palmilla all but one night because it was so delicious! And the staff is beyond friendly. Some of the best service ever. It's apparent they love their jobs (they told us so – and how long they have been there, like 16 yrs, 11 yrs, etc.)

Another big benefit: The Dive Shop. Very mis-named. They should be called the 'Everything Shop' - travel agent, booking agent, concierge…they arranged 2 fishing trips, a snorkeling one, flight to Orange Walk and eco-tour boat trip to Lamanai. We just had to show up.

Belize is on our list to revisit – and when we do, it will be to Victoria House.

Room Tip: Try to get a private cabana. All have some ocean view, and are very quiet.

My wife and I were married/honeymooned at Victoria House in May 2012... It was a wonderful experience all around. Javier took care of everything for us from the ceremony, reception, gluten-free cake and post-wedding meal set up. We got married on the beach, just the 2 of us... After the ceremony and taking pictures we enjoyed dinner on the beach that night among the trees, served from Palmilla Restaurant which was delicious. We stayed in a Casita 8 which we loved because although you are at a resort you have your own secluded space, with a hammock on your front porch! We ate most of our meals at Admiral Nelsons Bar which was quick and delicious. We had dinner and lunch at a few different restaurants in town but our meals at the resort were just as good or better than all of them. Took a Two Stop snorkeling trip to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley which was a lot of fun, although my wife didn't get out of the boat at Shark Ray Alley. Most of our days were spent sitting on the beach enjoying the quiet and running to town on a golf cart.. Thank you VH for everything, we will remember it for the rest of our lives... We will be back one day!

Room Tip: We stayed in Casita 8, which was a great room for us.. Location was awesome, next to one pool and 20...
