On the positive side, our bungalow C-2 opened to a beautiful beige sandy beach full of palm trees. The staff was friendly. The free computer and Internet worked better than at home. There are three pools, two with swim-up bar, one for (short) laps. The masseuse Daisy was very professional. The food store was small but adequate for breakfasts and lunches. There are two good restaurants by the beach, one at this resort and one (Capricorn) within walking distance. The snorkel tour was one of the best I have been on (sharks, sting-rays, turtles). On the negative side, the beach was not for swimming, as the sea floor was like a marsh: shallow, spongy, with long sea-grass. The apartment looked and smelled old, although most furniture was refurbished. There were itching mosquitos inside and outside the villa (the bathroom louver-window was apparently not air-tight). The maid service was terrible: on arrival, there was sand on the floor and chair, and at times we were missing towels and toilet paper. In addition, they seem not to have enough towels as one had to wait several hours for the towels to come back from the laundry. One time the maid cleaned the rooms although the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. While doing so, she stepped on and broke my diving mask, which was on the floor of the bathroom (I had assumed nobody would enter). There were interruptions in services (water, electricity, satellite TV). It rained every day, but this was not the resort's fault. Overall, Captain Morgan's was the most disappointing Caribbean resort we have ever stayed at.

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed the view from your bungalow. The views are certainly amazing and our guests are always raving about them. I’m also glad to hear that some of our other services – internet, swimming pools, snorkel tour, and masseuse – were up to your standard. Customer satisfaction is central to our service philosophy and we are forever striving to improve.
Nevertheless, I am sorry to learn that we did not meet all of your expectations. While we’re fortunate enough at the resort to be situated by the world’s second largest barrier reef, which protects our shoreline from rough waters and waves, sea grass tends to grow as a result. The sea grass beds protect vulnerable aquatic eco-systems, so the grass is protected by law - it is illegal to dredge any closer than 75 feet into the shoreline.
Mosquitoes are a common problem on any tropical island, especially during the wet season when conditions are humid. We recommend using a strong insect repellent or cream because they are sneaky!
Regarding the towel shortage, we had ordered a new batch of towels, but unfortunately they did not arrive in time. I’m sorry for this inconvenience. I have also spoken with our maids to ensure that we are maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
It was unfortunate that the weather wasn’t as sunny as you’d hoped during your visit. Sometimes there are power cuts, but unlike many other resorts in the area, we have reliable generators. These clicked over within minutes during the most recent power shortages. We know how frustrating these outages can be, so we are always prepared.
Thank you again for your feedback, which is very valuable to helping us improve future guest experiences. We’d love for you to return sometime to give the resort a second chance.
