“Will definately be back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Wanted and needed to experience the real Belize on a budget and we settled in to our very basic, clean, compfortable space and it felt like home in no time.Loved the laid back, easy going feel and really appreciated all the staff. Booked our snorkling trip through the hotel and so pleased with the very experienced, professional, helpful, well informed guide as my sister was somewhat apprehensive, it being her first experience. Rented their bikes and made our way easily both north and south of Pedros.Tasty food at the hotel and we cleaned our plates when we ate there! Am going back as soon as I am able and would not hesitate to happily stay again! Please note that one can swim off any of the docks within minutes walk, as the ocean belongs to the world and beautiful Ramone's even has a welcome sign to swim from 9-noon with safe steps down to the water at the end of the dock. Loved the very close accessibility to everything, yet quietly away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core. Many thanks to all the staff for their warmth, welcoming approach and helpfulness in all regards! S&S sisters.

I'm doing this review comparing to other hostels I have been staying at throughout Mexico, Belize and Guatemala.
The staff were friendly when they wanted to be and we booked a double King size room which was 2 single bed with different heights pushed together. One morning at 7-8 am the cleaning ladies came into our room which surprised us so we knew from then on that they expect you to be out of the room at that time which is inconvient for us if we just want to sleep in.

The pizzas were very good but expensive compared to what you could get around on the island. They did have an amazing book exchange selection, the best we have seen so far. Also as you can't swim anywhere from the beach on the island, they did have a pool set up with deckchairs and there was another pool next to it where they were in the middle of constructing a deck around it so it might be finished by now.

Pedro's is the centre of the island if you're on a budget - great social scene here with a pool, sports bar and awesome pizzas!

The staff are extremely helpful and met many people here that will remain life long friends!

Spent 10 nights in the hostel and Peter, Paul and staff were extremely helpful. Any info you need about the surrounding area and they will probably know it. Booked a snorkelling trip and very enjoyable. Room was clean and beds confortable. Showers and toilet area very clean, plenty of room to maintain oneself. Small pool area has chairs and loungers (there are 2 pools) and a nice place to relax. Well-stocked bar and great staff (hello to Carrie!), excellent pizzas made in the kitchen. Only a 7 minute walk in to town and you're only 3-4 mins from the beach, Close to the runway but the noise isn't that bad and they don't fly at night.

We was recommended Pedros in by a few previous people that visited here. Our group was 4 lads with a few days off from work. The hostel was easy to find from the boat that drops you off on San pedro. The rooms were clean with AC. The hostel had a clean pool. The food was very good. Order one of there pizzas as they taste great. Be warned they love Jagermeister here and they have a lot of it. They will also organise and trips you would like to go on for a discounted rate also. All in all we all enjoyed our 4 days here and would recommend it to anyone

Pedro’s says **** You and I agree. Damn straight! Bring your selfish, one-sided, ignorant notions about the world and come enjoy yourself with the rest of the world’s counterculture. Just be yourself and you will fit right in at this place. Fat, skinny, tall, short, black, white they don’t care. Sometimes you got to get out of your comfort zone and drain some of that blue blood. Admit it, we all love our opinions but our conclusions are pointless when, oh **** it. Pedro’s doesn’t like pretentious snobs but will like you.

Pedro’s is smarter than they look. Bullocks! I stayed for something like months. Less than a lifetime but more than a day and I say if you don’t bring a little paradise with you, you won’t find it here. I can hear some of you complaining already. And there’s a lot to complain about so meanwhile enjoy the best pizza in SP along with unsuspectingly brilliant upscale meals served in the bar. Dion makes the smashest shrimp creole. Just ask for what you want and they can probably find it, amazing.

The staff is local and experienced and willingly help with any questions or advice. The kitchen is clean. There’s drinks in the office including coffee. Hammocks, deck chairs, plenty of bikes and white sand everywhere.

My advice:

1. Stay at Pedro’s

2. Stay at Pedro’s

3. Party at Pedro’s. You won’t want to miss the gorgeous and talented folks that come through. Think you’re good at judging people? Great! That means you’re an *******. Pedro’s can help.

4. Don’t just drink. Take a day off. Especially if you have this thing about getting smashed every time you check into a hotel. It’s pavlovian behavior and you know it. I’m particularly speaking to young Americans and everybody else.

5. Leave Pedro’s. Just like you left your opinions you can pick them up on your way out. And pay your entire bill. I got to know the staff and they all work hard, have families and enjoy being appreciated. If you like breaking things and taking what isn’t yours Pedro’s has a great working relationship with the police. Security cameras everywhere. It’s the safest place in SP.

Well, that’s all I know and it’s too much. You’ll need a little grit to really enjoy this place. It’s worth trying or you can stay someplace where the owner wears shoes.

The hostel itself is a nice place, but too close to the airstrip and therefore noisy! Construction was being done when we were there and I don't recall that it was mentioned to us when we booked. Internet connection is free and great. Rooms are cramped with nothing other than 2 single beds. Showers and toilets spotless at all times, but some hooks or a stool to put towels / clothes on would have been appreciated. Twice a staff member knocked on our door at 8.30am, just to ask us if we were staying or checking out!! She should have checked with the guy at the office and not disturb our sleep.
