Once again we have come to have a meal here. Brought my son and his buddy. The prices and servers were welcoming, explaining the dishes that they had for the day.Food was amazing, as it was last time. Explored more dishes, such as the chicken stew (great flavour), chicken soup and a local tostada dish. Very fresh and plenty on your plate. It will be the first and last place we treat our selves on island. Do drop in worth the 15 BZ as it works out to 7.50 Canadian, and your more than willing to throw in a tip..enjoy!

“EXCELLENT local food!”

We LOVED this spot! loved that the menu changed daily. We really enjoyed the whole fried fish (hognose snapper). They cooked everything in cast iron pots over an open flame. Very cool, small, local spot!

“Very good surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

In Belize you get to eat most o the days gruper fish.
Forgett about the dusty street or the lack of ilumintaion it is not a luxuary restaurant, but food and service are really good. All the guys were very nice.
And please check the bathroom and see natural decoration on washbasin.

“Elegantly served seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

I had dinner at El Fogon while vacationing in Belize. It's close to the airport. Service was a little slow. They have a dinner plate with a choice of appetizer (deep fried conch or fish balls), main entree, and dessert for about $27-30 US dollars. I had the deep fried conch appetizer, and fried fish (grouper) and dessert was a key lime pie. For the entree, you could choose fish or chicken kebabs, or grilled fish or chicken, or conch in a lime mango sauce. The entree is served with coconut rice, and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were excellent. They will bring you some hot sauce and it's REALLY HOT! Watch out for those habaneros! The restaurant is small, but truly has the Belizean flair with the Belizean flag on one wall. There is a wood burning grill, and when you go into the bathroom, the sink uses a conch shell as a faucet. The steering wheel from a boat is used to hold wines. Everything was built by the father of the daughter who runs the restaurant.

“A nice time with friends!”

I know the food was good but I really remember the great key lime pie! They had a live singer who did a nice job but the fun part was that he let our son perform, too.
