“Good food and wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2015 NEW

Red Ginger is located at The Phoenix Resort. It is definitely one of the nicest restaurants in San Pedro. I enjoyed most of my meals there, except the rib-eye steak and beef short ribs. Other than those items everything was above average, and the service is perfect.

“This is almost 4 circles - just missed the mark.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2015

We had dinner and lunch at this lovely little restaurant. The experiences were quite different. Dinner was on a Wednesday night with tapas being the "star" of the menu. We ordered fabulous sea cakes, a decent salad with shrimp and decent empanadas, but pretty awful scallion/shrimp pancakes. Service was fine - maybe a little too attentive.

Our lunch experience was wonderful. Shrimp po boy and veggie pizza. Huge and delicious portions. We ate poolside and loved it.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

We dined here twice. It's the hotel restaurant of the Phoenix, but I'd still travel to eat here, even if I wasn't staying here (and if you are, it's a no-brainer...)
It's not on the beach, it doesn't have rustic decor or sand floors.
It does have great food. Everything on the menu is a good choice. Check their website for weekly specials: we loved tapas night, to graze happily over different dishes, and wine special night is an absolute steal. For Europeans: a basic Jadot Macon Villages is £25 in the supermarket here, as opposed to £10 at Majestic in the Uk. Okay, you expect European wine to cost more, but Cali / S.Americans weren't much cheaper, and we struggled to order the right bottle in some other places, without much wine expertise from the servers, but that's not their fault. Wine night here for Champagne / decent bottles at 50pct is a very good deal, and what you want with 'proper' food.
Nice ambience. Good for romantic couples or families ( great pizza, bend over backwards accommodation of kids weird food
mixes).
Received 1 family vote for best dinner in Dan Pedro.

Or those staying at the Phoenix, their room service is about he best I've ever had, let them cook your snapper / fresh catch).

“Upscale but affordable dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2015

We had the conch chowder, fig, goat cheese and prosciutto salad, honey chipotle glazed short ribs, and the shrimp in a habenro thai curry sauce. Everything was wonderful!
