“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Had a wonderful stay at Coco Beach and can't wait to return! Everthing was efficient, organized, and beautifully maintained - a perfect vacation resort! Can't say enough about the staff -- everyone we ran across throughout our entire visit was friendly and so personable. Being greated at the dock upon arrival was a nice touch (Zoby / Amy) -- the guys at the bar (Milton, Mac, Jeff) were attentative and fun -- Larry working the pool always friendly (pool beautiful) and a shout out to all the folks not mentioned by name working hard to keep everytihng at the resort looking perfect -- keeping up with the most beautiful scenery Mother Nature has to offer! Only item that had room for improvement would be the food selections and restaurant -- it just didn't seem to live up to the rest of the resort. Highly recommend Coco Beach and/or their sister properties -- they all seemed lovely.

Room Tip: We had a 2 BDRM sea-view unit and it worked out great for two couples and/or a family. Beautiful in...

Hated to see our vacation come to a close. Everyone at Coco Beach goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect. From Mac, Jeff and all the other bar tenders, to Larry the pool man and soooo many others, they do whatever is needed to make you feel at home! Our 2 bedroom suite was beautiful. The extra large balcony was less than 100 yards from the ocean. Only negative for the entire resort would be the food quality. Average at best, but it's an easy walk or bike ride to many other restaurants and bars. For those that like the quick and simple breakfast, Mario rides by around 7:30 to 7:45 am each morning with delicious, homemade breakfast burritos!

My sister and I spent a week here and we had a great time. People are very very friendly. Amy and Robin and another guy at the front desk was very polite and helpful. Everyone says hello and is ready to help with anything. Joe the bar guy was one of my favs he's so nice. Larry the pool guy is very hardworking and nice he got me a coconut :) my favorite!!!! The pool has a nice slide!! We rented a golf cart and drove it into town the road was very bumpy.. We drove slow we enjoyed the experience! Overall it was amazing we stayed in a luxury room very comfy bed and shower is awesome!!! My only complaints is, the beach was bad a lot of seaweed we had to go down to ixtan ha for the beach, there are aloooot of mosquitoes at night and in the morning they're all dead on the floor but we are around water so can't really do anything about the bugs. The food was a little expensive town is a bit cheaper. We really enjoyed our stay!

The surrounding properties are an extreme eye sore. The hotel itself has some issues of missing paint, and was a little bruised up. The shower head poked through a jagged hole cut way too big out of the surrounding tile much like you would see in a $45 per night budget hotel. Overall rather than feeling like you are staying in a paradise resort, you felt like you could tell you were actually in a 3rd world country and they'd put lipstick on the pig. It actually wouldn't take much to make the place look nice, but in Belize they don't seem to care about aesthetics. The rooms were way smaller than they looked in the photos, but where about the size of an average Holiday Inn. The pool was the most attractive feature and my kids would have loved it had they been with us. They are a big tease with a huge number of fishing poles in the beach cabana that can't be rented out to guests and the cheapest one in town to buy was $75USD. They rented us a cart even though it was almost impossible to get down the road to town despite the bumps. After a 30 minute ride from hell, we gave up, turned around, and went back to the hotel for a water taxi; we could not get refunded for the cart rental. There is no blanket or comforter on the bed. You only get the typical Belizian thin sheet then a thicker sheet over it so if you are used to a plush bedding, you will be uncomfortable even though the mattress was great. The people were genuinely nice and our room was decorated well. The guys working the bar were awesome and friendly. I would stay here again but not for more than 1/3 of the price I paid. Oh, and if you ask for US dollar change, they pretend they don't have any. One honest individual told me it was against company policy to give change in US dollar because Belize currency was of low value and they wanted to unload them on visitors; thus I took home a bunch of that worthless paper.

We just returned home from a Xmas-New Year's Trip. On the positive side, the hotel staff and the people of Belize couldn't have been nicer (especially Robin at the Front Desk). All my reservations and activities were scheduled, confirmed and the transfers to/from the airport to the resort were seamless. Once we got to the resort, we were disappointed by a few things....first our two bedroom poolside condo wasn't adequately equipped to handle a my husband and me and our two teenagers. One tiny bedroom had a small, uncomfortable twin trundle which relegated my son to sleeping on a pullout uncomfortable mattress in the living area. There were virtually no drawers to put away our clothes (we had to live out of suitcases), the bathroom was SMALL with nowhere to put our toiletries, only 1 mirror in the whole room (in the bathroom and not a full mirror), no washer and dryer although there was a space for it, the room phone didn't work, the seating in the living area was small and not that comfortable, no dishwasher. In addition, the porch and stairways were littered with mosquitos all the time and there were no screens on the windows so we felt trapped in the room. The beach had seagrass so wasn't conducive to swimming off the beach (you could paddle board or kayak or swim off the dock but we like to swim off a beach) and the pools were COLD (even my teens didn't like them) and the hot tub was broken. The weather was disappointing ....rain every morning and most evenings rain....and a few days it was grey and raining all day which left few options for things to do. Tuff E Nuff was great for activities, but be careful if you are a new diver....one person on our dive trip ended up in the air chambers in San Pedro for 2 days because he dove too deep and didn't have safety stops and wasn't buddied up.

We stayed at Coco Beach for 3 days in November 2013 and while the staff is incredibly pleasant and the pools are excellent for families, I thought the regular rooms to look too dated and the hallways unkempt. The hallways were covered with live mosquitoes all night long to the point that I didn't want to exit my room after dusk. During the morning there were dead mosquitoes littering the hallway floors. Now that I think about it, it was quite disgusting! It rained one day while we were there and the hallways had puddles of water (and dead mosquitos) and were not dried by the staff during the day. It felt dangerous to carry my 7 month old baby along those corridors and up/down the stairs, which didn't have rails. We had a regular room with a pool view so it was quite noisy during the day and evenings, which is to be expected. I had family staying in one of the two bedroom apartment-style rooms and their rooms were much better so I would recommend staying in those rather than the regular room, which again was very dated and needed some serious redecorating. We moved from Las Terazas to Coco Beach in order to meet up with family there but I wish we had stayed at Las Terazas instead. While the pool is more fun at Coco Beach, the property is much better kept at Las Terazas.

Room Tip: Get one of the two bedroom apartment-style rooms. Don't bother with the regular rooms.

Stayed at Coco Beach for last 3 days of 2013. Had a "hotel room" overlooking to pool. View was great and staff was very helpful. Not real issues but timing the water taxi to town was a bit of an issue. Like being able to go when I am ready not based on schedule when on vacation. With multi hour gaps between runs this not really an option. Guess a golf cart might be a better option but as heard roads were bad steered clear. Only issue I had was when transferring to a new resort for 2nd part of stay. Jumped on hotel paid transfer to 2nd hotel fo stay (Pelican Reef south of town). Assured by staff they would take us all the way to Pelican Reef. When arrived in town was asked to get out (nicely) and put in cab with another guy who drove us (and we were charged) to resort. If you have this same deal you might want to get something in writing from Coco that they will cover. Only 15 bucks but left bad taste after great stay!

Room Tip: Make sure you know if hotel room or 'villa' heard others on phone with staff that they thoug...
