“Disappointing Experience Here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The hotel is clean, the staff accommodating, but the rooms have technical issues. We checked in fine, but the room was awefully cold upon entry. So we turned the thermostat up, the heat kicked on, and we assumed we'd be fine. After a few minutes, however, the heat cycled off and my wife and I were confused. The thermostat read a temperature of 80 degrees, but it was clearly wrong. So we bumped it up some more, same result. The heat would cycle on until the thermostat reached the temp, then cycle off. The issue was clear after increasing the temp to 90 degrees: the temperature indicated WASN'T EVEN CLOSE to actual temp. The digital indicator rose far faster than normal, making it impossible to accurately function. The unit clearly needed to be calibrated. We alerted the staff before leaving one night, and he said it would be taken care of. Well, we returned, he greeted us at the entrance telling us that the unit was functional, but that we were operating it incorrectly (respectfully, of course). We explained the situation further, to no avail. We returned to a cold room, finding out that a few of the other rooms had the same issue. Staff was nice, just refused to acknowledge the problem. We gave up and left, disappointed with Hyatt. Most experiences with Hyatt are much better, so ask to check out the rooms before settling in one.

We had a confirmed reservation for a double suite (4 adults and a toddler) with a documented late arrival. We told the reservation clear we were driving 10 hours and would arrive between 2-6 am; we arrived at 4:37 am to a surprised desk clerk who informed us that she had no rooms. Se wasn't interested in my confirmed reservation for a double suite, and reluctantly offered us a king room with pullout couch, which we refused. She wasn't going to do anything for us until I forced her to find us a comparable room in the area at the same rate, and when she spoke with another Hyatt Place nearby, she admitted to them that she had cleared our room at some sort of turnover, and gave it to someone else.

Further, not only did she give away our room, she booked us at a different Hyatt Place for a higher rate, despite us asking her to make sure we got the same rate. to add insult to injury, she charged us a no-show for the room we had reserved that she gave away.

Luckily the Hyatt Place North Point was gracious and helpful, and ChiChi and the rest of the staff sown there went overboard trying to straighten things out for us. We will continue to stay at Hyatt Place (it's our hotel of choice), but we will not stay at Windward Parkway, ever.

We have also taken our complaint to Hyatt Place corporate headquarters to find some sort of resolution.

Room Tip: Tip: choose a different hotel.

The hotels is clean. The staff is efficient and personable. The breakfast is ok. Complimentary wifi and parking would be a great value IF you were not hit with extra charges that were not explained. Even after you question them...file a complaint....follow up with the complaint... Nothing!! No response at all. Just $72 in unexplained charges.

Room Tip: Check and double check your bill, then be prepared to dispute your charges with your credit card or...

Stayed here during our annual Christmas shopping trip. The hotel was close to North Georgia Outlet. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was great. We got a good price on hotels.com which made it even better.

Although. this location was a little further outside of the city than I would have liked, the price I paid was ridiculous! There are a lot of things to see and visit around this area. There are a lot of places to eat and shop. I love Hyatt Place because they are consistent. They are all spacious, have a refrigerator, let out sofa bed, separate sleeping quarters, desk and kitchen area. Every HyattbPlace that I visit looks the exact same. The breakfast is great. There are lots of options with hot options as well. This day there were skillet sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit salad, grapefruit salad, tea, coffee, cold cereal, bananas, oranges, apples, apple juice, milk, orange juice and muffins (I can't remember anything else). The reviews that were negative about the breakfast were confusing to me. It's a buffet and there are enough items that everyone should be able to find something that they like. I agree that it may be difficult to keep oatmeal from drying out on a buffet but this is not something that we are not accustomed to.

The place is clean, right off of the freeway.Walking distance to some eateries. Driving distance to most other eateries. Just not close to downtown.

I had a few billing issues that were resolved immediately and needed an early check in that was never confirmed in advance of my arrival. For the price I have nothing bad to say Hyatt Place is consistent. Oh yeah, free wifi. It amazes me when we still have to pay for WiFi in this day and time. I refuse to stay some place where wifi is an added expense. Overall I'll give this Hyatt Place a 9 compared with other Hyatt Place. And a big fat ten based on the value and the amount I paid.

The hotel has a great location in Windward area, close to restaurants and shopping, the new Avalon Mall is just 2 miles away. The service was excellent, the rooms are well appointed. Breakfast was limited but good quality.

I typically do not stay at Hyatt properties but when traveling for business, this hotel was booked for me. I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, modern, and spacious. It is right off the highway and close to several restaurants. My only disappointment was the Internet was very slow, but seemed better on the second day.
