“Great Hotel in Alpharetta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

I have stayed at several Hotels in Alpharetta while traveling for business and I recently stayed at this Residence Inn and was impressed. The staff was very friendly and they had a great breakfast selection. My room was quiet and comfortable and the beds were nice to sleep on. The location is great as it's close to restaurants and the mall. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

We just visited Alpharetta because my husband was attending a conference here in North Point Georgia. We travelled with one other couple and an infant. We booked this hotel because we could have the "2 bedroom suite" which was perfect for our group. The room consisted of a common living area with fireplace, TV, fully equipped kitchen and couch. Then on either side were fully enclosed bedrooms with their own full separate bathrooms. This hotel was recently updated in 2012 and we were more than impressed. The hotel is less than a 5 min walk from the North Point Mall. You can see the mall from the parking lot of the hotel. It also is conveniently located in an area with places to eat very close by (Chili's, TGI Fridays, Steak n Shake , Pizza Kitchen and others! Also, a 10 min walk away is North Point Market (Marshalls, Carters , Nordstrom shoe store , Target , Old Navy etc. )

While our husbands attended the conference we had lots to occupy us with everything so close by there was no need for cabs because the weather was nice enough to walk. The hotel staff were very friendly and were available to help whenever we needed anything. They provided a Pack and Play for our baby to sleep in and there is a hotel vehicle that can be available to pick up / drop off at times for close by locations.

The hotel also provides a full hot breakfast. There was lots to choose from and no one should have to leave hungry.

I would definitely recommend this location and would stay here again if I am ever in the North Point area!

There is a nice pool area outside, however, the time of year we visited wasn't quite warm enough for a dip!

Room Tip: If you want to shop ask to be in the building closest to the mall, for quicker walking access, even...

Stayed for 2 night on a business trip.
Hotel is very well located, walking distance to a big mall and tons of restaurant in the area (Sage was very good). Rooms are very big and very nice.
Room had a fresh clean smell.
Nice lobby and breakfast area were they also server a "light" dinner and drinks (all free)
The dinner was burgers and hot dogs on one night which were good.
Would recommend for business or with family.

Room Tip: Rooms of the first floor are open to the internal yard (and pool and basketball cort) so they feel k...

We love to stay at this Residence Inn, it is very convenient to everything...especially the Mall, which we walked to.
The people there are very accomadating, especially Mary Beth who checked us in. We asked if it would be possible to upgrade to a two bedroom if it was available. She checked and it was which made our visit a lot more enjoyable to have the extra room. Thank you Mary Beth!
The rooms are very clean and they serve breakfast. Would highly recommend!

My sister and I stayed at the Residence Inn with our daughters recently. We were there for just one night, using their American Girl package. The package was a little pricey, but it was a treat for the girls.
Our "room" (suite) consisted of 2 bedrooms with a living area (kitchen, sofa bed, fireplace!) in between. It was perfect! The moms could crash on the beds while the girls watched the American Girl movie that was provided at check-in. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a movie and popcorn night in some common area, but since we stayed only for a Sunday night, we received the use of the DVD player and our girls' choice of American Girl movies to watch in our suite.
The common areas seemed nice enough. I brought workout clothes but never did get around to finding the exercise equipment so I can't rate that. The interior corrider to our room smelled a little "funky" but it was not an overwhelming odor, so I just ignored it. Our room was reasonably clean. The dishwasher light was on when we arrived, and there were a few clean dishes in it, along with well-stocked cabinets. Because of the package we booked, upon arrival each girl found cookies and a book along with a personalized welcome letter and a take-home bed for her doll. Also, because of the package, our room had some extra pink touches (pink pillows, pink hangars, pink trash cans, and pink towels.)
The front desk staff was friendly and made a point of checking in the girls at the American Girl check-in part of their counter. We ran into a housekeeper in the hall who reciprocrated our hellos. And at breakfast, when I had trouble with one of the self-serve waffle makers (a prior guest apparently had burnt some syrup into it), the attendent (Maria?) kindly offered to make a replacement waffle, which was beautiful and tasty! So I would give this hotel 5 stars based on its staff and their implementation of their AG package. Also, our beds were 5 star beds. I'm not sure I've ever slept on a better bed!
We did have a problem with our toilet. The tank simply did not fill with enough water to flush successfully. We encountered this issue twice, and were able to flush each time by removing the tank lid and pouring a pitcher of water in the tank during the flush. It appears the inn went a little too far in trying to conserve water. There's a certain amount required for a toilet to work properly, and the toilet was not set to allow that much water in the tank. We did not wind up telling the front desk because we were able to solve the problem ourselves, and we were there such a short time. But my rating loses 1 star for the low-flow toilets and the slight funky hall smell.

This hotel has been my home away from home for the past 5 years and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are recently remodeled and always clean, bit the people who work there are the reason I have stayed. I have never come across a better group of people in 11 years of traveling. From the GM to the other managers to the front desk team, housekeepers and maintenance team....they are top notch all the way. They treat every guest with a friendly attitude and most of all....respect. I have met many other guests over the years and they all agree that the staff at this hotel keeps them coming back. I will be leaving soon and I will miss the friends I have made here. It is rare to see a group of coworkers who treat each other and the guests like family. If you are in the area, you won't find a better choice of hotel.

My 9-year-old daughter is a huge American Girl doll fan, so when we came to Atlanta we had to visit the American Girl store (which, frankly, is pitiful if you have been to the store in Chicago or New York). Instead of driving back into Atlanta, we stayed at the Residence Inn, which you can walk to from the AG store. We had booked the "American Girl Package" and it was the highlight of our trip! She was treated like a star, from check-in (on a pink carpet instead of a red carpet!) to the special movie night (they showed Kit Kittredge, with popcorn and pink lemonade while the girls lounged on pink bean bag chairs). Her room had pink and white linens and bath towels, and her doll received her very own bed (to keep!). The staff at the front desk was bend-over-backward gracious and accomodating, even serving my daughter gluten-free cookies when they found out she couldn't have the usual cookies at check-in. After being so disappointed in the AG store, it was wonderful to have such a fantastic experience at the hotel!
