“Hampton Inn Alpharetta/Roswell Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

This was a great hotel. We got a good deal and was here for 2 nights while visiting Stone Mountain. The Hampton Inn chain has been a good chain in my experience and this was no exception. The place was very clean and the staff was great.

We were in town for a junior golf tournament. This is an awesome hotel, very clean and the rates were very reasonable. If we are ever in this part of Georgia again, we would definitely stay here again. We have nothing negative to say about this hotel.

Nothing negative to say about this hotel, not even minor. Stayed three nights, and got an excellent deal through AAA. Tastefully decorated. Clean. Good breakfast. Staff wasn't bubbly, but that 's okay. Pillows were on the small side. The outdoor pool is cold because it rarely gets sun.

Spent 3 nights here and having stayed in many Hampton Inns this one is one of the nicest. Rooms were very clean, breakfast was fresh made vs. the toss in the microwave packets at many of the locations. Great rates and looking forward to using this property in the future.

We just spent one night at this hotel and was very impressed with the staff, super nice. The hotel is lovely on the inside, clean and well decorated. Our biggest complaint is that we were in a non-smoking room and all of the rooms on our hall were non-smoking but the entire floor absolutely smelled like a smoking floor. As soon as you got off of the elevator you could smell and it and down the hall, not good, totally stunk. We were on the 4th floor.

This hotel was situated in a pretty good area. The hotel was like most Hampton Inns, big clean rooms with nice soft beds. Internet was pretty quick and reliable. Breakfast was the usual fare and was out on time every morning. The extras in the hotel weren't the greatest though. Outdoor pool was very cold and the door back into the hotel would randomly not accept key cards. The gym was not in good shape with both treadmills having very loose belts on them which made them unusable. There was a elliptical that actually worked at least. The printer in the business center hardly worked and the people working the front desk didn't offer much help in getting it to work. All in all, just an average hotel for the area.

I am a HHonors Gold member, and I had a reservation at the Hampton Alpharetta this evening. My HHonors profile clearly states that I request a non-smoking room (in fact, it states that smoking preference is 'most important'). Additionally, my confirmation through my company's travel agent clearly states non-smoking. However, when I arrived at the hotel this evening, the agent, Woody, informed me that I would be in a smoking room. I checked out the room, and disgusting doesn't begin to describe it. There was no apology, no offer to make the situation better; only a simple 'take it or leave it.' As someone who spends an inordinate amount of time in Hilton properties, I have never been treated this way before.

Ultimately, I had to book a room at the Doubletree at a substantially higher rate. The staff should frankly be ashamed at how it treats its most frequent travelers.
