“Great for American Girl Doll Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

We stayed at this hotel under their American Girl Doll package and enjoyed an unforgetable family experience. From the "special" check in area, to the pink cookies, they made our daughter feel like a princess! It was a trip that she will never forget! The hotel was convenient to the mall and tons of restaurants and the room was clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We took advantage of the American Girl Package - very good value and the staff treats the young lady guests like royalty! Pink bedspreads, cookies delivered to the room and a pink tablecloth at the hotel restaruant for breakfast. Nice pool - indoor and out. Clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and only a few miles to the American Girl Store. Overall, great experience!

Always great staff at all Marriotts- this hotel was no exception. My room on the 3rd floor was quiet and comfortable. It was clean except for a hair on the bed. Really? How did that get there?

I had a great sandwich in the lobby bar. That was good except for the super strong perfume smell that permeates the lobby and unfortunately, the lobby bar. It's really nasty. I have stayed in plenty of hotels and never noticed a smell like this. I wonder why they do that?

I had to pay $12 for Internet which is not awesome.

We were here on business - coming from Atlanta airport don't forget .50 to pay toll when you come to Alpharetta.

Remodel underway is what they say. What you get for your money today is a 1999 style marriott room with a flat screen. Concierge lounge located in a private dinning room in the restaurant with poor service. A lobby/main bar with not enough space and sub-par service. For the $150-200 rate, i would pick another property and drive to the area.

We had only a short stay at this Marriott but thought everything was great. The location was very good, right off the GA 400 and easy to find. There is more shopping close to this hotel than I have seen anywhere, practically any store or restaraunt you would ever need is within 1 to 5 miles from this hotel. I have boys and was a little worried after seeing all the American Girl reviews that we would be bombarded with pink but to my joy, nothing about our stay reflected American Girl dolls! The hotel itself was very nice, with wood accents everywhere. The rooms were a good size and looked brand new. I am super fussy with cleanliness and this room had no problems in it for me at all! A great place to stay outside of Atlanta.

Room Tip: We were at the end of the hall and had a quiet night.

This is a nicely designed and laid out Marriott Hotel with a friendly, cooperative, and engaged staff that is well trained. Front desk is inviting, and when I stayed they were offering several ways to improve your point levels. The check in was a bit slow with both front desk staff on the telephone. I did check in late at night (just before midnight) so calls may have been from hotel guests or reservations.

This hotel is undergoing renovations, which is somewhat needed. The rooms are fine, but slightly outdated. The hotel could improve wall soundproofing with the renovation... Guy in the room next door coughed quite a bit, and I could hear it loud and clear. The room itself is rather large, with a nice new television, large bathroom, and seating area. The room was clean and decorated well. The bed was excellent, with great pillows and a great night sleep.

Two major issues:
I was quite taken back with no free wireless, even for silver level Marriott guests. This is standard at their other chains... Perhaps the front desk forgot to inform me of the passcode? Also, the alarm clock didn't work. Thank goodness for the backup! These must be part of the renovation as well!

Room Tip: Check the wireless and the alarm...

Here on business and arrived late after long flights. The pleasant smell walking into the lobby was a nice treat. The chocolate mints on the pillow was a sweet gesture reminiscent of old times but without the cliché.
