“Perfect option for Alpharetta business trip or short stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

Great hotel that I enjoyed getting back to each evening during my business trip to Alpharetta.
The rooms are a little on the dated side but exceptionally clean, free wifi in room is a bonus.
Breakfast very good and lots of nearby options for food and drinks.
The best bit for me was just how warm and welcoming all of the staff are, without exception and always willing to chat or help. Special thanks to Carlton who was a great guy and helped enthusiastically on several occasions.
Wonderful place, I highly recommend

Stayed on 9/14/12. From making the reservation, to checking in, to checking out, the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The outside property and the lobby are well-kept and very clean. The room was spacious, clean and and the bed was extremely comfortable. I'd asked for a room in a quiet area and that's exactly what I got. No outside noise, no thin walls and no hallway activity could be heard. Couldn't have asked for better! Gail G.

The DoubleTree Atlanta/Alpharetta is an interesting property. Apparently it was built as a Sleep Inn then converted to a DoubleTree. The lobby is nice, staff is friendly, and the beds are wonderful. The desk/TV arrangement is really neat. Great location as well.

This was my second stay at the DoubleTree Alpharetta. I came back here after my last stay in Jan 2011 (the infamous Snowmageddon) where the staff really pulled together to help everyone during a difficult time.

The hotel isn't large, but the rooms are comfortable (the beds are amazing) and I always get a great nice sleep. Yes the decor is a little dated (especially by European standards) but the rooms are clean and well maintained. Everything worked, including the Air Conditioning, which kept the room nice and cool in a time of very high humidity. The shower enclosures are fibreglass, but the showers are clean and work well. I enjoyed my shower every morning! I do get upgraded rooms as a Hilton Hhonors Gold Member, but the rooms that I have stayed in would be representative when it comes to decor and cleanliness.

What makes this hotel special are the staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I used the shuttle bus to take me to the office each day and it was always ready and waiting for me at the time I booked. Front Desk and Waiting staff are all great. Feels like there is a real team spirit. Certainly doesn't feel cold and corporate like a lot of hotels see days. As an added benefit, there is a Starbucks about 100 yards from the front door!

Overall, I would certainly recommend the Hotel if you are staying in the area. if you are a light sleeper, you might want to consider asking for a room on the back of the Hotel. The nearby Windward Parkway can sometimes be a bit noisy, especially on a Sunday morning when it sounded like a Daytona Raceway. But that's not the Hotels fault and certainly wouldn't prevent me from staying here again when I was in the area.

Stayed here for a night on a business trip and found the hotel to be perfectly acceptable and comfortable. The public areas of the hotel are very nice and up to date. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a bit odd and reminded me a bit of some hotel's I've stayed at in Europe, and certainly could have used an update. Overall it was a good stay and I'd stay here again if I was in the area for business.

Stayed at the hotel in May 2012 for business.
Lower cost than most hotels in the area, and you get Hilton Honors points.
Pros: comfortable bed, decent breakfast
Cons: no fridge (not even an option by request); older, dirty carpets; room is lacking in electrical outlets; no counter space (once laptop is set up on desk).
One big negative was that the airconditioner could not seem to keep up with cooling the room - always felt too hot in the room, even turned down to 60.

This Doubletree location is a decent choice for our trips to the area, visiting family. On our last visit, our bed wasn't very comfortable, but that may have been that one room. On other visits, we've had a good experience there.

This isn't the Ritz, but it's a decent hotel at a decent price. The breakfast available off the lobby is a good deal. It wasn't included in our room rate, but it was a reasonable price for what we got. Overall, a good choice if you'll be in the Alpharetta area.
