“Average Doubletree that's showing it's age”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

I stay at this Doubletree 3 or 4 times a year for business. While there are other nearby hotels (Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Sierra, etc), I stay here out of habit and for the Hilton points.

On the positive side, the staff is wonderful. They are very nice and very accomodating. The flat panel TVs are nice, but most Doubletrees have these now. I ordered room service and it came ontime and the food was good for a Doubletree.

On the negative side, I've noticed a couple of negatives in my last few stays. My room was starting to show a lot of wear, especially the carpets. Additionally, the tiny bathroom with it's 1987 fiberglass shower enclosure is really looking bad. Most of the redone rooms these days have opened up the bathrooms were possible to give them a less closed in feel. The problem with this property is that there would need to be a serious rework to get rid of the fiberglass surround and open up the bathroom. There just may not be enough space in the room to make the bathroom larger.

Additionally, there were a few items broken in my room. The light inside the shower was burned out. Normally, this is not an issue, but because of the way the shower surround is closed in, there is little light entering the shower space from the other bathroom light. It's a small thing, but one that the maid should easily catch when she's cleaning the shower. Unless, she's not really cleaning the shower...

The desk lamp was also broken, with the light hanging down. Again, hard to miss if you are cleaning the room.

In the end, this is a good hotel if you're in the area for business and you're chasing Hilton points. Otherwise, hit the Marriott.

I was concerned when we drove up to this hotel. The official description on the web site calls it a "boutique-style gem of a hotel" that is "quaint" as well as "intimate and unique." It describes the location as "surrounded by excellent restaurants." The web site picture of the lobby, placed right next to a picture of downtown Atlanta, seems to support that description. I'd never been to Alpharetta, so I assumed the hotel would be in a downtown area where you could walk along city streets to the restaurants, retail shops, etc. Well, the hotel's location is suburban, not urban. Plus, from the exterior it looks like a converted Hampton Inn. So initially I was let down. But this Doubletree is a real find. The rooms and decor are pleasing. The people are wonderful. The breakfast is really very good, with made-to-order omelets. And there actually are a variety of excellent restaurants very near by, some (such as Vinny's) actually within walking distance. The real key to this hotel's value, however, is the people. They go out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. For the money, this Doubletree is a bargain. If I go back to Alpharetta, I'll definitely stay here again.

This is a very clean 2.5 star property. The staff is very nice and very helpful. The rooms are ok and very clean but the heating is the old fashioned kind under the window...which is fine except for the fact that the unit continuously turned on and off thoughout the night. I tried to either turn it on or off but unit would not allow.

Overall the hotel is a good value with a great staff and ok rooms.

Great staff is what makes me come back to this hotel. You can feel the love they feel for their job. They are very attentive to your needs and make sure that you feel at home.

Although the bar is very limited in assortment, it's always nice to stay there for drinks. I especially like breakfast and lunch, as the staff spoils you with great food and excellent service !

The pool is small but nice for a quick swim and the gym is just big enough for getting in shape.

The rooms have the best beds, are well equiped and all amenities are supplied.

Room Tip: In summer, ask for a room on the parking lot side and not the pool side. This way you do not have th...

We stayed at this location for one night . This is a small hotel with a great location for shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful!! The room was very clean and well appointed with flat panel tv. Fitness room was very nice and well maintained!!! Our only complaints were the very small bathroom, lack of the famous cookies at check-in (had to get them later), and the poor quality breakfast!! ( quality not quantity)

Stayed here for two nights while looking for a rental property in the Alpharetta area. Hotel is located in a very quiet business area with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and within walking distance (Starbucks is right across a small side street).

Our check-in at 2 a.m. was a breeze and the room was very, very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend this room for a family, but it was just fine for two adults. Beds are superior; towels were thick and soft.

Breakfast in the morning was good with a nice selection of healthy and not-so healthy things :). Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Would recommend highly due to the price of the room ($79 per night), comfort and proximity to GA400 and any destinations in Alpharetta/Johns Creek.

This hotel is a great little place for business travel in the Alpharetta area. The staff is very helpful and accomodating. The hotel is right accross the street from Starbucks, and overall the location is central to everything. For the price, this is a great find!
