“The alligators are the best..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

I enjoyed it but they need more animals like tigers, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras. I was in the gift shop the lady that was working was not helpful at all. She didn't know the prices and didn't try to find out until I asked can she find out the prices of the things I wanted to purchase. Then around 4:00 and some people came in to buy tickets. They were told "I can take your money but you may not see many animals because, they start putting the animals up up at 4:15" the park closes at 5.

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Designed by the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom's Jim Fowler, it is a great zoo for a small city. Wide variety of animals and bike trails and picnic tables.

“Wonderful Smaller Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

We decided to visit Chehaw Wild Animal Park while we were in Albany after visiting the Flint RiverQuarium. As some have said this zoo is a smaller one, but it was big on fun. All of the animals at the zoo appeared to be in good physical health and condition. The staff also seemed to have a genuine desire to provide the best care possible for the animals in their park. During our visit it began to rain (actually quite heavily) and we "hid out" under the covered viewing area at the black bear exhibit. Not only did this vantage point keep us dry during the shower, but it also allowed us to observe the black bears' behavior during the storm. This was very informative and exciting for us. Although, as I say, it is a smaller zoo I would definately recommend this Animal Park to anyone who finds themselves in Albany.

PLEASE NOTE: I visited this zoo during the summer of 2010, but have only more recently begun using TripAdvisor. Therefore, the "date visited" listed on this review is not accurate since the program would not let me selected anything further back than June 2012.

“reptiles......”

gotta have an appreciation even for the venomous community. The animals are kept in awesome condition and seem to love their environment which makes for pleasantry when walking through.

“Indian Festivals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Always try and make the Indian Festivals and make sure to bring the kids. They learn so much and we enjoy the various cultural events and food.
