“Great for kids.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

I have two kids aged 2 and 4 and both enjoyed the Chehaw park. We picniked and went to the zoo afterwards. Great for a boring afternoon.

“Natural habitats”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

We visited this park on June 9th. It was a rainy day. When you pay they give you a bracelet to wear the whole time you are at the park. If you want to see the aligators close up you have to go on a saterday or sunday at 2PM. Then you can feed the alligators your self. At the cost of 5$ you get a mug with food that you can freely refill at your next visit to the park.
At their outside auditorium they give explanation about different animals. When we were there it was nocturnals. You can even touch the animals. There is soap to wash your hands afterwards.
Because most of the animals stay in a big area, that looks close to their habitat. You do not find them all the time on the ground. Let your children also look in the trees, otherwise they do not see the bobcats or lemurs.
We enjoyed our stay at Chehaw. Most of the exhibit have an outpost with a free view of the animals. Great to make pictures without a fence in your way. If it rains the flies and bugs at the alligator outpost are less agressive.

“Parks at Chehaw”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Beautiful grounds, well taken care, plenty of public facilities. Ample parking, and lots to do. Animals do not look neglected or hungry. Truly an asset to Dougherty County.

“A Terrific Park with a Variety of Animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

While Albany, Georgia may not be on the top list of cities for the south, they have a very good animal park at Chehaw. A large variety of animals and our 2 year grandson loves to visit it regularly. It was our first time, the grandparents, from Florida and we were extremely impressed with all the park offered in animals in a natural habitat setting. Kids and adults will definitely enjoy it. We live in the Tampa, FL area and found it comparable to Lowry Park Zoo.

“Great Kid's Suumer Camp”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

My Grandson went to two different camps, Dinosaur and Nature and keeps asking when he can go back. About 8 - 3 weekdays in June and July. The zoo has come a long way in the last few years. Love those Lemurs!
