“Friendly but average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Was fine for sleeping. Nice Lounge next door, good breakfast. Not the cleanest. No coffee pot. Very cheap, so I can say you get what you pay for. Rooms very old and need some repair. Would only stay there in an emergency.

Room Tip: Rooms on first floor, no elevator

What a dump. We booked online and when we arrived we knew what we were in for just by seeing the front door. The grounds were dingy and filthy with trash all around. A chicken wing bone sat on the sidewalk outside our rooms our entire stay. The pool area was a disgrace. Filthy, trash all over, no clean towels, and the water was cloudy. It was completely closed off to us on day 3 of our stay. There was a washer and dryer around one side of the building that were outdoors and rusty and disgusting with the trashcan next to them overflowing. The rooms are really beat up and just look and feel dirty. The paint was peeling and chipping off the walls and ceiling. The door wouldn't fully close unless I slammed it hard. My toilet was not flushed and there was hair in my sink. My lamps and alarm clock were not plugged in. Do I really need to set the clock's time in my hotel room? The refrigerators top shelf was broken and taped on so it couldn't be moved to fit taller items. The AC cooled off the room good but the buttons were ripped off which made it hard to control the temperature. One of our rooms had three people staying, but only enough towels for two and not even an extra roll of toilet paper to go with the half used one that was there. I also consider a "poolside bar" a bar in or directly next to the pool, not a regular bar in another room behind closed doors. Breakfast was pathetic with everything running out. When we got there was no eggs, no fresh fruit, one yogurt, no coffee, no pitcher of water and the apple juice machine was broken, leaving us with only gross watered down orange juice. The coffee is also supposed to be available 24 hours a day and was empty majority of the time. Our third day here both our room keys stopped working and they couldn't be fixed at the front desk either! We had to wait a while for someone to come to let us in our rooms. This place is a joke.

I loved how close it was to The Naval Station. But we should have just spent more and stayed at the Holiday Inn. I chose this place because it gave a nice military discount. When we checked in the lady was EXTREMELY nice. But the room was so moist feeling and smelled like mold so bad. I went next door to purchase my own Lysol to spray all over the room and what not. I wouldn't allow my daughter to even touch the railings because they appeared so dirty and there were clothes hanging on the railings. The second floor ice machine was falling apart and bugs ALL over it. This was the worst experience dirtiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. Not to mention the pool was so dirty and bugs and other things. The guy 'claimed' to have just cleaned it and did not obviously. I am pretty sure that people live there. The breakfast was dry and sat out forever. Each worker just had people hanging out in the lobby with them, their friends and family. They all were really nice but not a very professional environment at all. I will NEVER EVER EVER stay here again. I always found choice hotels to be nice but this place needs a make over inside and out and new people whom work there. Kids should not just be running around behind the desk.

Room Tip: No room is good.

This hotel is now a Quality Inn and is just average. Front desk staff is very friendly. The rooms lack attention to detail and my blanket had bleach marks that really stood out when you walked in the room. Overall this property needs a little TLC.

If you need to be near the Navy base the location is great. Only ten minutes from the beach area restaurants and shopping.

We spent an overnight here to be close to an early morning activity nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, the overall appearance was neat and clean. The room was small, but clean and mostly maintained in a satisfactory manner. There was a small thing that I think could easily be repaired, the toilet paper holders were both only half way working properly. Repairing or replacing them would go a long way to getting a better score on general maintenance. There were no washcloths in the room as well, but we didn't want to take time to call down for service for that one item since we arrived late and were gone early.

This was a nice place to stay and very close to alot of things too do. Price was very reasonable and staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place for it's reasonable price and location. I would stay here again if we travel to the area.

staff was very pleasant and informative, rooms were clean & beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were good but it would be nice if on the weekends they would change it up and add bacon or sausage & scrambled eggs. Everything we needed was in the immediate area (restaurants, drug store, car wash). We really enjoyed the lounge connected to the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.
