“Great for kayaking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012 via mobile

We go here now an again to kayak. It is very pretty and has great runs. Just make sure you go early because it's gets really crazy in the afternoon when everyone decides to go all at once. But all in all if you love to kayak then I would go here.

We camp here about twice a year and think this is a great park! Lots of shade in the campground with paved roads great for bicycles.

Our only complaint has been that there are not full hook ups. However, they are starting to make improvements which include full hook ups! (I will give it an excellent then!)

Check with the park over the next year if you plan to come. There are supposed to be intermittent closures starting in September.

Best scenery in near Orlando and defiantly worth a visit, can spend a whole day there with barbecue and etc. Dingy's are available outside so remember to pickup before entering. The park fills up fast in summer so go early in day to ensure a place

A couple of my friends and I want primitive camping at Camp cozy. We like going camping where it feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere. The campsite is about 3.5 miles form the trail head and you have to take your own firewood. the site and the trail are not as scenic as other places we have been to. The site has some benches 2 fire rings and non-poetabul water. A huge con I had with the place was that a trail cuts right through it so that kills the secluded feel of the site. great place for beginner primitive campers.

We went early on a Sunday morning, and went kayaking. We managed to catch lots of wildlife, otters playing, red shouldered hawks mating (oh er!!) turtles swimming. We also came swimming here and it was a great antidote to the hustle and bustle outside the park.

Go kayaking! Best place for it. Keep your eyes up. Possible bears... Its super cool. And otters, gators, tons of turtles. Just careful when u get out on occasion.. Leeches. Little ones, but they come off. Just in areas that are.more stagnant

I just happened upon this state park while I was visiting close by. I spent the day there and it is amazing. There are a lot of easy, shady hiking trails (with a boardwalk). You can swim in a natural cool spring, canoe or kayak, or just walk around and enjoy the wildlife and the unspoiled wilderness. I saw a lot of squirrels, some ibis, and several tortoises, including a protected gopher tortoise.

There was a young man there who was a volunteer and he directed me to a little wildlife / reptile center; I would have missed it had he not directed me to it. I was glad he did. Inside, they had some snakes, a baby alligator and some tortoises. It was very interesting and he was so knowledgeable about everything in there. It is a great little place to take kids into and show them these reptiles.

It was cheap to get in, $4. Well worth it to spend a beautiful day in this wonderful state park; I am so glad I went. I'll be back!
