“Excellent Place to See Manatees and other creatures!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

The colder the weather the more manatees you'll see. Its a great viewing area. If you're lucky you'll also see jumping sharks and jumping rays as well

“Nice place to view manatees, but the water isn't very clear.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We came to see the manatees in the winter time. There were a few there in the channel, and certainly was neat to see them. But you're kind of far away from them on the boardwalk. And the water is really cloudy, so you can't see them below the water. You're better off going to someplace like Blue Springs State Park in Orange City to see manatees in the wild. But if you can't make it someplace like that, this is a great opportunity to see manatees. The power company has built a nice little visitor center/exhibit area.

“Manatees and fish”

This small park has manatees resident most of the year. Fish, birds, and butterflies can be observed in their respective habitats along the boardwalk.

“One of my new favorite places....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Hidden gem!!!

We stopped here on the way to visit a friend, after seeing a little sign on the highway off ramp. It was GREAT! FREE, educational, beautiful series of ramps with overlooks to view the manatees and educational signage, as well as a GREAT little environmental science center inside! The staff were super friendly and helpful, the exhibits were awesome (really loved the manatee skeleton inside that kids could touch and re-assemble, etc)! This would be a great stop for any manatee lover, as well as families with kids!

Went there twice during the trip -- saw sharks in the water, about 50 manatees on the first day (was cooler out), jumping stingrays, fish, butterflies, and more...

“Free (!) place to see manatees!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

Could not believe this wonderfully educational center was available free of charge. Great viewing platform, educational opportunities, nature walk, plentiful parking. The weather was very warm, 80s, so we only saw one baby manatee up close, but saw the backs of two more over near the power plant. Odd juxtaposition of power plant with the natural world, but thar's today's world.
