Recently remodeled, Boss is a nice place to sip a beer and scarf some raw oysters while gazing over the shrimp boats in the bay. That said, it is quite pricey, the service is spotty and the fried stuff is about average. One item on the menu worth getting is the "End of the Road" sandwich. A more than ample serving of fried shrimp, oysters and scallops on ciabatta bread with lettuce and tomato. A huge sandwich and a much better deal than their baskets.

I am a Southerner and I know a seafood deal. This is no deal. The food quality was what I expect at any restaurant sitting on the bay but talk about over priced. This place beats all I have ever seen. For $36 (not including tip), we received 6 shrimp, 2 medium pieces of grouper, some generic curly fries, a small bowl of cole slaw and an even smaller bowl of cheese grits and 2 sweet teas. Go to main street and eat at "The Grill". We ate there about 2 months ago and it was everything you could ever ask for in quality and quantity. Anyone who believes Boss is a great place to eat seafood either is no Southerner or anorexic thus not requiring much food. And no, I am not some over weight fatty into the all you can eat buffets. I want it hot, fresh, and enough to know I have eaten.

We stopped for lunch at Boss Oyster, a quaint waterside restaurant and scored an outdoor table right on the railing complete with ceiling fan. The dock was right there and the pelicans and sea gulls were entertaining the whole time. The restaurant specialized in oysters, any way you wanted them, but also had a complete menu to go along. We got a chicken finger basket, lemon pepper grouper, smoked mahi mahi and a dozen oysters steamed on the half shell with butter and red beans and rice to go with them.
Our waiter was very friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Went with a local friend and loved it. You must have the Grouper chowder. The three of us had flounder,oysters and a oyster po boy. All were excellant as was our young blond waitress. Service was great. Forget about the complainers, they well never be happy anywhere.
