“Saint Vincet Island Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

The museum was really cool but, the boat tour to SVI was da bomb! Captain Wes who is also a certified green guide is a skilled captain and obviously cares deeply for the environment and lives the leave no trace principles of outdoor ethics. He was quick to point out artifacts, rare plants and identify birds from a great distance. He was insistent we leave artifacts and plants as they were. Just pottery shards but, some had patterns that could still be seen. The Island was only accesible by boat so it was a real treat to see some real florida.

“Great way to spend an evening!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

I thoroughly enjoy attending lectures hosted by the museum. They are always interesting and informative and are given by knowledgeable and enthusiastic speakers. They are followed by a delicious and free low country boil that is frequently served on the dock with a beautiful view of the river. I meet nice people and interesting people. Great way to spend an evening!

“Museum Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

This was a great experiance for Myself and my Family. The kids had a blast with all of the wildlife that we saw during our Eco Tour. The photos and info in the Museum were wonderful and informational. Maybe next year we will have time to do one of the other Tours that were availible.

“A depth of maritime history and opportunities for exploration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

This is a fantastic resource to learn about the maritime history of the entire coastal region and river system. There is a chronological tour that reviews the maritime industries that have come and gone with many historical photographs and artifacts. The do some really cool tours up into the estuary and to the St. Vincent and St. George islands on their power catamaran. They also have an incredible wooden sailboat that is in impecable shape. Their staff if friendly and informative. It is the best museum in town for it's educational content and opportunities. We went out on a trip to St. Vincent Island where the captain provided a guide book prepared by the museum with educational facts specific to the island. It even included a test so we could challenge our children on what they learned.

“History and Education”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

A great little museum with local artifacts, pictures and history of Apalachicola. A most excellent excursion to Saint Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, We visited a lagoon and pristine beach. The Island is accessible only by boat, they have a very comfortable "power cat" with a head and full canopy. We can't wait to come back and take a different trip. A nice diversion from the typical tourist traps.
