We passed by on our way back to our lodging after eating at Papa Joe's. My wife saw the Vietnam Memorial first, and wanted to get a picture. After parking, we notice a nice walking path through some well maintained gardens. We then went up to look at the house and were invited in by the park ranger. He gave us a 2 or 3 page history of the house and its place in Apalachicola history and welcomed us to explore the house on our own. Afterwards, the park ranger spent time answering all our questions and giving us even more detail about the history of life in early Apalachicola. This was a very enjoyable unplanned stop during our stay in Apalachicola.
