Stella worked hard to make our stay perfect. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the house and room. Food is great. The sausage gravy and biscuits this morning were the best!! I recommend this place to stay.

This was our first visit to Apalachiacola and we were not disappointed. We visited for our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased. The Coombs House exceeded our expectations. Our suite had a luxurious Jacuzzi tub with plenty of room for 2. Breakfast was not your usual continental fare, but a made to order plate of eggs and bacon. The innkeepers were all delightful. One of them gave us a tour of the main house and another personally escorted us to our room (in a separated building). It is a quiet town so don't look for lots of excitement but if you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place! Don't forget to try the oysters at one of the fabulous local restaurants!

My wife and I love oysters and lighhouses so we decided to spend a weekend in Apalachicola so we could enjoy both. Apalachicola is known for its oysters and there are three lighthouses within 30-40 miles. We stayed in the Biltmore suite and loved the Jacuzzi tub and the king size bed. I like to enjoy a cigar at night and we had out own private veranda to sit on. The staff was extremely friendly. I wish I could give the location 5 stars but there were some small issues that I think need to be ironed out. First was the fact that I ordered a "romance package" for our first night (Valentine's) but it was never delivered to our room. To their credit the staff credited my bill without any problem. The other issue I had was breakfast. The food and presentation were good but the entrée on both days had cheese in it. The first day I did not ask if it had cheese so that was on me. The second day I asked and after being told it had cheese I asked for some scrambled eggs and bacon. They could not do it because they said they used all the eggs to make the main entrée. Lastly they did not bring my wife an entrée plate since I guess they assumed she also did not like cheese which is not the case. Giving the staff person some benefit of the doubt she did appear to be working the dining room alone versus two people on Saturday. If we ever make a return trip to Apalachicola we will still stay at Coombs House since the overall experience was pleasant.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the veranda suite. We were on the road side so if traffic noise bothers you ask for one o...

Great place to spend our 15 year anniversary. The place was charming and the staff friendly. We stayed in the Coombs room. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was large enough for us both and clean. The breakfast was delicious with both a dry breakfast bar and a main course. It was the first time we ever had eggs with broccoli. The place is within walking distance to some local shops and restaurants. We will definatelly be back.

The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The made suggestions for resturants and even made us a reservation to the Dixie Theatre where we saw Bob Milner. His show was really good we bought several tapes. The cookies for "tea" were good. Evening wine and cheese was enjoyable. For the amount of the room charges I expected more and better selection for breadfast.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms would be nice. We were on the main floor and I was afraid it might be noisey...

We spent a midweek winter getaway here. Beautifully appointed, period, old and classy. A breath of fresh air from the usual motel stay. The chairs on the porches were a great way to meet some fellow travelers. We stayed in the Cooms room. It was very space, clean, and comfortable. The private bath had a hot tub type of tub, separate from the shower. We would surely recommend it to anyone, and we have.

Room Tip: As unoccupied rooms had open doors, we viewed a few of them, and they were beautiful. Cooms room al...

The Inn is gorgeous and has a great location. We stayed in the Biltmore which was located in The Veranda house. This is a good choice if you want more privacy and is located just a few steps from the main house. They even provide beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes at no charge. The staff was solicitous of our needs and the entire stay was lovely.
