“Breakfast in Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

While buying insurance for our new home in Bradenton Beach Fl. , we ask the agent where some of the best places to eat were located. We were told among others that The Sign of The Mermaid would rank high on the list. With friends visiting we gave it a breakfast visit. Let me just say , it was one of the best eating experiences I have had . Family owned and run , the food was not only great tasting but presented at the table with a culinary flair comparable to upscale restaurants. Eggs cooked to order , lean sausage with lightly seasoned potatoes and some sweet fruit slices along with toast. We also had the french toast that was like freshly baked pastry. Yummy to say the least with the bottomless cup of coffee. Now brace yourself , all the food for $3.99 each. That's right and I will be there tomorrow morning......Home made pies in the display case . Might have a slice for breakfast... come join us. The Killingsworth's

“Not to be judged from outside . . .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

From the outside it isn't the most inviting restaurant but ignore that and go inside . . You'll be so glad you did.

We had breakfast there on our last day of our holiday and it was so good we had our evening meal there also. The servers were a bit slow on both occasions but we were there for the food and that was absolutely delicious both times.

To the American couple who recommended the apricot, cashew and coconut pie . . . It was simply amazing as you said it would be!

Will definitely return.

“Oh wow!!!!!”

Creme brûlée stuffed toast with mascarpone and berries for breakfast. Loved the atmosphere in historic Anna Maria house, quirky and quaint. Desserts out of this world. If you visit the island you've got to have breakfast there. Staff very friendly.

“OH MY GOODNESS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We don't normally go to this restaurant as it is a little out of our price range but they were offering a $3.99 brunch that caught our interest. My wife and I both had the Creme Brule French Toast that was served with home fries, home made sausage and some fresh fruit. I thought that my wife was going to have an orgasm right there in the restaurant. It was by FAR the BEST French toast that I have EVER had. I have got to get a recipe for this to make at home. We had intended to go back for dinner but never made it as there are so many excellent restaurants on Anna Maria Island. Maybe next year we will make it for dinner.
