“Wish we could have tried more than the canoli!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

We popped in here to have a look over our Xmas hols - unfortunately we ran out of time on our hols to sample the menu, but the man I presume to be Vinny did give the three of us a generous sample of fresh canoli each to try - we hope to visit next time!

“OMG the lasagna!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

First let me say, this is a take-out shop and is perfect just the way it is. Most visitors on the island stay in cottages and this is the best solution for home-cooking without the trouble. They have a terrific selection and trust me, this is true Italian food. Super fair prices and sweet people. No wine, so go across to the General Store to grab a bottle on your way home. Call ahead for something special and they'll have it ready for you. And don't forget to order the home-baked loaf of garlic bread. I think I have to go and get a larger bathing suit because of their lasagna, but it's worth it. Closed Sunday and Monday usually.

“Very Good Italian take-out dinner and desserts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Our family tried the bakery (pastries and desserts) a few nights ago (cannoli, cheesecake, and cookies). Fresh and delicious. We decided to order take-out dinner for the seven of us tonight. We ordered shrimp scampi, manicotti, and bolognese. The taste and quantity was just right and we ate everything. We also purchased a delicious ricotta pie that had a hint of lemon. I understand that Vinny & Cheryl's is not usually open on Mondays and they were very busy (good sign). Our food was not ready at 6pm but it was worth the 15 minute wait!

“Teeny, Tiny but Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

We drove to Anna Maria Island for the day from Orlando and were hungry, by complete chance we found ourselves on Pine Avenue and hit good old Trip Advisor for near ne now places to eat. Lo and behold Vinnie and Cheryl's was across the street. It was so much smaller than e expected but packed with all sorts of amaing things. Pasta, desserts (Oh, the desserts!), bread (Oh, the bread!) - there is a theme here - and after much deliberation we decided to share a pizza. We were informed that the pizza would be about 20 minutes and although it was a little longer than that, it was worth every second of waiting. Pepperoni, sausage, wonderful sauce and a fabulous crispy crust, it truly reminded us of the pizza in Italy. We sat outside at the little umbrella shaded table and couldn't finish that delectable pizza - sadly. The service was warm and friendly, the price very good and we would go back there again if we return to Anna Maria Island. A little gem.

“Pass on the Pies”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

I really WANTED to love this place after reading the reviews and checking out the chef's website... but our pizza wasn't great. We ordered 3 pies and the crust was SOooo chewy no one wanted to eat leftovers the next day. Not sure what happened, but it seemed like the dough wasn't fresh? Picture day-old, preservative-free bread... that's how chewy the crust was. The service was frustrating too. We called in the order, arrived on time to find the pies sitting on the counter waiting. Even so, two people who arrived after we did (and who's orders weren't up) were rung up while we waited around. When we did pay, we were overcharged by the clerk. Maybe it was a new employee situation?? We were so far past hunger & didn't want the pizza to be stone cold when we got home, we didn't even argue. Honestly, for the price we expected better service and higher quality food.
