“BEST sandwiches!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Want the best steak and cheese sandwich you'll ever have? Vinny makes the BEST steak and cheese with peppers, onions and mushrooms on a crusty Italian roll that is perfect. His pastrami and cheese sandwich is excellent, too. You won't be disappointed. Great service. Nice people.

“$24 and 45 minutes for 1 order of spaghetti, oily sauce and garlic bread”

The smell inside the carry out restaurant is incredible. The price, wait time, and food - not so much. Skip it.

“Could be exceptional plus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013 via mobile

I read other reviews -- as Yogi Berra said "it's deja vu all over again". The story about closing at 6 and then not closing happened to us also. It seems that many folks on vacation really don't think about ordering til later in the day so I suggest that when you post an 8 o'clock closing you stay open to 8 o' clock. I suggest this because the food IS worth waiting for. I hate baked ziti but Vinny's with meat sauce is truly the best and that is with apologies to Aunt Maryann and all the other great NJ cooks who have prepared it! Try the eggplant dishes as the parmigiana and rollatine were again some of the best I have ever eaten. Lasagna and chicken francese we had were also truly top notch. In fact, we ordered food for 9 and everyone loved their dinner and there was plenty left for the next day's lunch! Though I believe the desserts are made elsewhere they, too are of a very high quality. Quite frankly, for $$, this is a terrfic option on AMI. Going back today, heard there will be fresh mozzarella and I just have to try the meatballs and sausage. Keep up the good work , Vinny

“ALSO DISAPPOINTED”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

Stopped in to order for two couples based off of all the positive reviews. Service was just short of awful. I agree witht he prvious post the young guy has a major attitude issue and should have nothing to do with working with customers.

We stopped in at 5:00 on a Wednesday (4/16/13). We were told that they would be closing up early at 7:00 because business was too slow to stay open any longer. No problem. We went back to our condo, wrote up everything we wanted and returned by 5:20 - at which time the lady working the counter proceeds to tell us they are now closing at 6:30. Just rude people working that day - like they were there to do us a favor and we should be grateful for anything they did for us.

We proceed to order just under $100 worth of food - a mixture of many things Italian. We ask, and are assured, the order would be ready by 6:20 (we certainly don't want to put them out so they can close early). When we arrive at 6:20, the place is a bit more busy than previously, our food is not close to being ready (after an hour) and the attitude of both people is just that much more heightened.

Suffice it to say, we received our food, finally, at nearly 7:00 pm. While plentiful, it ranged from good to just mediocre. Frankly, I have had better Italian at multiple restaurants in the suburbs of Indianapolis. As for the service, I have most definitely experienced better, friendlier service from the 90 year olds working at the BMV. If I ever find myself staying on AMI again, this will not be on the list of places to eat.

“Worthy of the Northeast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

We ordered spaghetti and meatballs to go with a side of veggies. Delish! Everything was made from scratch and very authentic. We also picked up an order of almond tiramisu - different flavor from the traditional coffee-flavored favorite, but delightful.

Now, this is not an ideal place to "eat in". There are a few tables outside, but it is primarily a take-out joint. We ordered 1/2 before we went to pick it up and waited about 10 minutes. Just call ahead and don't be concerned about waiting. Oh, and they also have a very polite, but laconic attitude when it comes to service.
