The only good point of the visit was that it wasn't very busy when we went in and we were seated right away. It went downhill after that... The service was poor, as was the product served. Once we were seated we had to wait about 8-9 min for our waitress to get done talking with the people that were leaving at the booth right next to us. We could tell from the discuss overheard that she as talking politics with the people trying to make her point. Really??? The elections were over 3 weeks ago. You're at work and should be doing your job now. My sister said she would have left then, but since where I live, we don't have a "Joe's Crabshack" and it had been years since I've been to one and I requested it. So she didn't say lets go. When our waitress finally stepped over to us and said her name was Gabby, my neice couldn't help but chuckle over that irony. Gabby took our drink orders and took off without getting our appetizer order. Someone else delivered our drinks for her and when she came back by, we quickly got her attention so we could order. Sis ordered the peel & eat shimp appetizer for us to share. And my neice wanted some bacon wrapped shrimp which was on the menu as part of a meal. Gabby said it only came in that specific meal. So I requested that she check with the management and see if they could serve it separate as my neice would like it and we are requesting it. She agree to do so and also took our dinner order at the same time. The peel & eat shrimp we received was just an overpriced basic frozen shrimp that was thawed with a blaw tasting cocktail sauce. I ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder, which tasted better than anything else I ate,and it was more like canned soup then a fresh made. And I ordered the Queen Snowcrabs for my meal because I was told it would be a larger size and easier to crack than the regular snowcrabs, which my neice ordered. There was a five dollar difference in price between the two meals but when we received our meals the crab legs were identical in size and mine weren't any easier to crack. Both had 2 red potatos and 1 ear of corn, which was obviously a previously frozen item. I asked Gabby about where the bacon wrapped shrimp was since it was not served. Oh, she forgot to check with the manager and quickly left. She returned to say the management said it would be okay, so would we like some? I just nodded yes rather than saying anything to her. Really??? Also she never picked up or removing any of the empty bowls or plates that cluttered the table. All three of us in my family that were dining here, work in the food service industry in one form or another. This restaurant needs to provide much better serving and customer service training to it's staff. And for the prices that they charge for their food, they truly should provide a fresh quality product to the customer, not this frozen stuff.
