“Best free museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Aurora History Museum is hard to find, tucked behind the city and county buildings, but worth the search. Their featured exhibits are usually well done, especially the exhibit of the Colorado Japanese internment camp last year. We enjoyed the history of video games. In the process of enlarging and updating, the museum promises to be bigger and better soon.

“family fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Aurora Museum is a free small museum that is right next to the Aurora Central Library. The exhibitions vary and are very interesting. They usually come from private collections. Anything from the history of video games to Vietnam War remembrances. There is also a room for kids to explore and has outfits for imaginary play, drawers with examples of fossils, woods, shells, etc. A relaxing couple of hours. There is always someone there to answer questions and you can just donate to help keep the museum running and open to the public.

“An interesting smaller museum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

A museum focused on City of Aurora with rotating exhibits of related subjects such as a current one of photos of the earth and moon taken from space station. All volunteer and very well run operation, supported by the city plus donations. No admission, but I always leave donation.

It is great if you are just looking for information on the settlement and history of the town of Aurora but if you are looking for more than just Aurora information you will be disappointed

“Small Museum With A Big Heart”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Though small the Aurora History Museum is a quaint and interesting stop. It is very near to Aurora, Central Public Library and was interesting. There are all sorts of historical bits that residents and visitors would not otherwise find easy to learn or know. It's super small so the tour takes less than an hour. The best part is you won't get sore feet from too long walks.
