“Suprisingly good hotel out-of-town but connected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

Stayed here at very good group rate. Nice spacious room with enormous TV and desk + sofa. Good fast wifi included. Free shuttle to & from airport (Island3 out of door 503). Leaves hotel on the hour on request and takes 20+mins. If you want to be picked up at the airport, worth phoning to check shuttle is coming via courtesy phone (situated just before going outside; there is a button for the other Red Lion - call them and ask to be transferred).

To get to Downtown from the hotel, the last station on the Rapid Transit Rail link is just a short walk away (under the road bridge - cross the roads the correct way so you are protected by the pedestrian signals!). $4 30min ride straight to the Main St Mall where there is then a free shuttle that runs up and down.

Also, don't be afraid to eat in the hotel. We found surprising good quality cheap food for a chain hotel - eg fabulous brocolli soup included with entree.

I don't think this hotel is 3-star, probably 2 or 2.5. Things seem to have worn with age.
Location is not close to downtown or airport, but close to the Nine Mile rail station if you don't have a car. Airport shuttle is often late. For the $41/night on priceline though, I'll take it. Lobby looks nice and receptionists are generally friendly.

We were there for a family reunion. We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very accommodating for all our our requests. We traveled with small kids and the breakfast on site was wonderful! We thought the room was a good value for what we recieved. The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool and and we enjoyed the adjoining hottub. The few minor problem we had were handled quickly and with a smile. The whole hotel seemed clean, fresh and happy. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The location was so close to so many family activities! It was fast and easy to get to anywhere we wanted. The rooms were comfortable and quiet at night. Thank you for a great vacation and family reunion!

Room Tip: We were on the 6th flor and the elvators are very fast!

We had the most enjoyable time the last three nights at your Hotel and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. Thank you for your consideration of our family as we needed to make needed changes to our picnic site. With the rain in the forecast, it was not a good choice to have it at the State Park area. We also appreciated the shuttle driver for his patience. Alex, you were so wonderful and kind. Thank you!

I travel all summer long and have been for 10 years with my daughters softball team. NEVER have I had the horrible experience that I just received from RED LION. From booking a suite I thought I would get the extra step up from an average room. We did not get our extra bed, had no hot water, no ac in the beginning. Took several times to fix our problems and never really did fix completely. Do not stay here. They have been under 4 different managers in the past year. Wonder why?????

Room Tip: Our whole team had a/c problems we were all on the 4th floor

I arranged this 7-day stay at the Red Lion Denver Southeast for two youth softball teams.

Two days before arrival, one of the 24 rooms we had reserved for this group was incorrectly cancelled with only an email sent about the cancellation. When I saw the message later in the day and called the reservation center, they were quite sorry but wouldn't do anything about it. This didn't change that the room was improperly cancelled and that I had to send one team member and her family to a completely different hotel.

During the stay, housekeeping failed to replace the used towels that they removed from the room - daily. Each evening I'd call down to the front desk to let them know what housekeeping had not replaced the used towels and we needed more. But nothing changed. By the end of the week, housekeeping didn't even make the beds. (Maybe they did get my feedback about the towel situation and this was pay-back for complaining.)

The internet connection was terrible, and after spending an hour on the phone with user support, the only "solution" they could give me was to manually try each of the available network connections until I found one that worked. This was an issue every time I logged onto the Red Lion network.

Finally, regarding parking. The hotel has well-marked parking spaces with ample parking on site. However, each day people parked in "non-marked" spaces to be closer to the main entrance. The problem this creates is that those of us parked in marked spaces can't get out because the "lazy parkers" block us in. This happened daily. The front desk staff were sympathetic but nothing changed during our week-long stay.

Room Tip: Don't park in the lot in front of the main entrance unless you want to risk being blocked in by...

We stayed two nights here to join a tour of Colorado. The airport shutttle runs once an hour on the hour. We reached the bus stop at 2min after 8pm, after a long flight from London, we decided to take a taxi instead of waiting an hour. Twentyone miles and $50 later we arrived at the Red Lion( is there a more remote airport anywhere in the USA than Denver). That said the staff were very nice and wasted no time in sorting us out with a very comfortable room. Not the fanciest place we have stayed but clean and good beds. Breakfast next morning was very good with a good selection of hot and cold food.We started our tour next day with a trip to Estes Park in the Colorado National Park fantastic scenery, and returned to the Red Lion for our second night. We ate dinner in the hotel, if you dont have a car there is little choice, the hotel sits in a triangle between highways, I would like to say the dinner was as good as the breakfast but it was not, I had a salad and the chef must have thought quantity would make up for quality there was so much on my plate I had to send more back than I ate, it was a bit of a mess, just piled high. But a nice margharita in the bar and a good nights sleep, and another nice breakfast and we were off. Next stop Grand Junction.
