“Great hotel particularly at off-season prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

The Hotel Jerome can't be beat for location and charm. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, if not a little overworked. They seemed to be staffed for the low season, but had more guests than anticipated. We had a junior suite that was very well appointed. My only complaint was that the housekeeping was a bit unpredictable. They didn't come until 2 pm on Saturday, and when we asked them to come back in an hour and then told the housekeeper directly when we were leaving the room, it was still not made up at 6 pm. However, when we returned from dinner at 9, turndown service had been done. Overall a very nice hotel, just wish that the room cleaning had been a bit more proactive.

The staff at Hotel Jerome were wonderful, just the right amount of welcome, help and privacy. The room was more then we expected - warm, comfortable and spacious. We look forward to our next vacation there.

The service was amazing!!! The room was nice.

I wish that they had an ice machine for the guests, I hated having to call guest services every time I needed some.

Something I was somewhat surprised by is that my bed was not made, I stayed two nights.

I liked it overall. The hotel was very tolerant of my large group, a Fraternity event.

After visiting Aspen for well over 10 years and staying in different hotels/condos/rentals, we prefer the Hotel Jerome above all else - it's like "going home" again. The service and friendliness are exceptional: we are treated like family, with warm enthusiasm and a genuineness that is unique in our experience. The accomodations are very comfortable and well worth the cost. The hotel is located withing walking distance of the main shopping and ski areas which makes getting around very easy. The Jerome has a history - along with Aspen and the region - and this adds to the charm of this unique hotel. We will return to Hotel Jerome without fail every time we visit Aspen.

The Hotel Jerome is my favorite place to stay in Aspen in both summer and winter. I have stayed at four or five other notable hotels here in the past but decided to make the Jerome my choice for accommodations over the past eight years. It epitomizes the spirit of Aspen and the welcome back was amazing. The room was quiet, clean, large and immaculate, with a great view. The beds are really comfortable and the environmental programs at this Rock Resort are appropriate for this town. Welcomed and pampered is the feeling you get from check-in through departure and it is in no small part because the people love what they do for us. The Jerome staff was remarkable, notably Zach for running a great operation, Maureen and Jim at the Front Desk for showing what it means to be happy in helping people, Michelle and her Food and Beverage group and the entire extraordinary staff. Every time we needed anything, routine or otherwise, there was someone volunteering to go above and beyond what you would expect. I literally feel as if I’m part of The Jerome family. The accommodations, the restaurants, the service, the entire experience makes the Hotel Jerome the go to place in Aspen.

Room Tip: King Suite 336, Junior King 210

I don't have much to add to the other reviews already on this site, but I have the following thoughts about the Hotel Jerome...

If you are looking for a great downtown location, this is a GREAT place to stay. The restaurant - Cantina - across the street has good Mexican food and a nice terrace for dining.

The hotel staff can be a bit snotty and uppity if you drive up in, God forbid, a Buick and not a Mercedes or Range Rover. If you're not dressed to the T - you are traveling, after all and are more than likely enjoying the outdoorsy side of Colorado, like we were - the staff thinks you don't have money and can treat you perhaps not as good as they would other guests. The bellhop had an attitude and a chip on his shoulder, and that set always sets me off. That being said, we were sent off by the most wonderful man as we were leaving - he was very kind and courteous, helpful with directions and ideas on what else to do while we were in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah, and was very grateful for our patronage of his hotel. If it weren't for him, this hotel would have received a MUCH lower rating from us. After all, the rooms/suites AREN'T cheap.

As far as the rooms are concerned, we stayed in a Junior Suite, which was quite large and well-appointed. The painstaking attention to detail was obvious, and the furnishings were classic yet comfortable. You could NOT ask for a nicer bed to sleep on or a more beautiful view of Aspen Mountain! An honor bar, flat-screen TV, nice sofa and chaise lounge rounded out the spacious room.

One thing about this hotel that sets it apart from others - it has the BEST bathroom I have EVER experienced in my travels. Two sinks and a spa-style bath in one room and the shower and toilet in a connecting room made it a true spa-like experience. My mother was using the lotion "from the Jerome" for weeks after the trip and really loved the scent.

Another HUGE plus - FREE WI-FI and PARKING - SO unexpected! OK, so it's part of a fee, but it's included in your room rate and won't give you a heart attack at the front desk. Valet parking is a bit weird, as you are on the main street when you "park." However, when you call your car to the front, it's there when you get outside, so that's a big plus if you plan on using your included in-and-out privileges.

The swimming pool area looked very nice, but unfortunately it was too cold out to enjoy it ourselves.

Overall, the hotel was very nice with a great downtown location to shopping (think Burberry, Louis, Vuitton, Gucci and the like) and dining. If you have money and can show it off, then you will probably get better service than an average family looking for a splurge. I felt uncomfortable in some aspects because of this, but if you can handle it, then GO FOR IT! The rooms will NOT disappoint.

Room Tip: Would recommend with conditions (see review)

Just one night here on a quick getaway. As others have noted, service here is outstanding. Everyone seeks to exceed expectations with prompt and friendly - but unpretentous - service. Location on the far side of downtown Aspen makes it a little quieter (nice) than being on Main st, yet only 4-6 blocks away from the gondola. Upgraded to a larger room on arrival, found the furnishings in the room a little dated, and the room - which was huge - seemed to need more items to fill up the empty space. Staff couldn't handle the crowd for breakfast; there were empty tables but the hostess was nowhere to be found after a 4-5 min wait, and servers just walked by several of us waiting for tables. Minor staffing issue and the only real complaint. Would definately stay here again.
