My wife and I stayed here on an anniversary trip as a special treat. It is definitely a nice place. The rooms are elegantly furnished and the fireplace is a nice amenity. Downstairs the lobby is relaxing and lively for the apres ski crowd. We ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good but the menu is one of those complex, gourmet type deals so if you are not in to that, skip it and go to Pacifica.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The conceierge helped us make arrangelents for a snowshoe trip and they let us borrow an Audi from the hotel to drive for a few hours to go. It is a first class place (there is Patron tequilla in the minibar). In general, the rooms are a bit tired and could use some updating. You can see the acumulation of wear and tear showing in the rooms. It is nice and the location is great, but I did not think it was quite worth what they charge. If I go back, I would probably try the Sky or Jerome or one of the others in town. It is nice, but I did not think the quality was commensurate with the price. Though at the prices they charge, it would be tough for any hotel to meet that expectation.

I was in Aspen for a corporate event so I need to preface these comments by saying that I wasn't personally paying for my stay. I was however very impressed with the service we received from every member of the staff - warm, courteous, helpful. The food was good but not excellent. The rooms are large with lots of storage space, comfortable lounge chairs and Bose systems for apres. I love the lobby area - a comfortable place to hang out and read or have a glass of wine. You can't beat the location.

My husband, his family and I stayed at the Little Nell for 5 nights in Jan. I am not really a fan of cold weather, so the place was wonderful for a few days of hibernation. Aspen is such a quaint little village anyway and the 7 plus feet of snow (piled up) made it into a story book village.

The Little Nell is one of Aspen's most upscale hotels. It looks like a Swiss chalet. While the interior is not fancy by any means, it is ski shack cozy. Check in was simple.A neat thing about Little Nell as they allow dogs. Several people, including my sister-in-law, parade their cute dogs around the lobby. The animals actually live more like royalty at the Nell as L.N. provides pet beds and gourmet dog food in silver bowls.

Our room was large and comfortable. We had a king bed, sitting area, fireplace with plasma above it, 2 closet areas and a large bathroom. Also, we had a decent sized balcony that faced the mountain and swimming pool. The only negative thing about our room was the location...We loved facing the mtn and watching people ski or snowboard down, but there is a restaurant on the side of the building, which made our room much less private. The mini bar was well stocked and included oxygen. There were also a few cd's and books to use. LN provides great headphones so at night, you won't disturb your spouse if you decide to watch tv. Turn down service was good...They leave you a pitcher of water and great chocolate. Oh, the water in the bathroom gets VERY HOT. Be especially aware if you have young children with you.

Room service at the Little Nell was a little above average. I had oatmeal with fruit every morning...For some reason, L.N is known for it's oatmeal. There are several neat stores attached and surrounding the LN. Gorsuch is an upscale store that has about anything you could ever need for cold destination apparel. As far as restaurants go in Aspen, they all seemed wonderful. The concierge can guide you, but my family has been going to Aspen for years and have their own spots. We did go to Nobu one evening..very chic. Also, a French restaurant another night...decent food and I don't remember the name.

We rented our skis from Gorsuch...LN's concierge can arrange it all. If you happen to bring your own equipment, as my sister-in-law and her boyfriend did, LN has great storage. Also, LN will take you basically anywhere around the town, very nice to be dropped off for dinner or skiing.

I did not do a lot of shopping in Aspen period. Most things are extremely overpriced, as you can buy them in Boulder or Denver for 50 percent less. Unless you are going for an amazing piece of art or fur, that is.

As far as activities go, we arranged to go on a horse sleigh ride through LN's concierge. It was magical. We also spent several days at Buttermilk, while my sister-in-law opted for Highlands. Buttermilk was just my comfort zone, but they enjoyed Highlands immensely.

LN is a wonderful place for couples as well as family vacations. There were lots of people, but we never felt too crowded. Although it is more expensive than other places in town, Little Nell is a great place if you want to be cozy with attentive service. We will be going back in Jan and I look forward to it.

Lovely room, calming ambience, staff who worked hard to make it a great stay ... BUT ... epensive, restaurant is average, free shuttle never available and expectation for tips and extra costs for parking and "resort fee" added significantly to the overall cost. Housekepeing was the best, always cheerful, helful and everything perfect, they deserve special mention. Ski concierge was helpfull, but advice on where to rent skis is biased. Suggest using Performance Ski ... just across the road and half the prce for great skiis. Would go back to Aspen, but not so sure about The Nell.

My wife gave these people a good review after our wedding last year based on promises they made to us to correct their failures and behaviors that absolutely destroyed our wedding and honeymoon a year ago. I am really p/o'd that they did not follow through on their promises now. Here is what happened: We had our wedding at the Little Nell on June 28 of 2007. We had borrowed handkerchiefs from a local antique store for the "something old/something borrowed" portion of the wedding. My wife kept ONE of those handkerchiefs for her wedding keepsake, and we left the room with the rest of them in the room. They were on loan from a local antique store, where the owner was gracious and kind enough to entrust us with irreplaceable, precious family heirlooms for the "something Borrowed portion of our wedding. After the wedding, we returned to the room after the wonderful reception, to begin our honeymoon. Shortly into the honeymoon, my wife noticed that the antique handkerchiefs were missing. We had not left the room since the wedding reception. The concierge came up to the room, and we insisted to search the trash at that time, because our makeup person from Aspen said that thefts had been committed in relation to other recent weddings in Aspen hotels. He denied us that opportunity, saying it would be done asap in the morning. The following day, we had no less than THREE times we had to LEAVE OUR ROOM, and were left to WANDER THE HALLS, while someone went into our room UNATTENDED and SEARCHED EVERY BELONGING for the missing handkerchiefs. IT WAS MORTIFYING. IT WAS OUR HONEYMOON AND WE WERE KICKED OUT OF OUR ROOM WHILE FIRST HOUSEKEEPING, THEN CONCIERGE, THEN SEcURITY RIFLED THROUGH EVERY SINGLE PERSONAL POSSESSION WE HAD. We also came to realize that the extra long wedding gown bag, for which we had paid extra money, was gone, so there was NOTHING to put my wife's 9,0000 DOLLAR WEDDING GOWN into. Also, the wig stand was gone. WE HAD 3 SETS OF PEOPLE KICK US OUT OF OUR ROOM AND LEFT US TO WANDER THE HALLS ON OUR WEDDING HONEYMOON WHILE THEY SEARCHED THROUGH OUR PERSONAL POSSESSIONS, basically making us feel like[---] and SUSPECTS. Meanwhile, the "security" representative, LISA, WAS SO HORRIBLY RUDE TO US WE WANTED TO SEE HER CHOKE TO DEATH. My wife kept telling her" We wanted to be able to come back for our anniversary" and SHE THOUGHT WE MEANT WE WERE AFRAID THEY WOULD NOT LET US BACK when what WE MEANT WAS WE COULD NOT POSSIBLY COME BACK TO A PLACE THAT TREATED US SO BÅDLY. She even called us the next night while we were trying to have a honeymoon at the St Regis to tell us she did not beileve our story, and she actually SAID THAT our photographer probably STOLE the handkerchiefs. We had to do our own investigation and have the wedding coordinator call her to tell her what happened before she stopped treating us like CON ARTISTS. A few weeks later, Lisa sent us flowers and promised us a comped night for our troubles. 6 months later, I sent a fax to the hotel manager, who wrote us a letter saying that: "hopefully the comped night would make up for our troubles? because WE NEVER GOT THE COMPED NIGHT. HE NEVER REPLIED. THEY TREATED US LIKE CRIMINALS, STOLE OUR STUFF, RUINED OUR WEDDING AND HONEYMOON, AND NEVER MADE UP FOR IT. THEY ARE THIEVES ÅND CRIMINALS ÅND SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED WITH VALUABLES OR YOUR PRECIOUS WEDDING. WHEN WE WERE PREPARING FOR OUR WEDDING, WE FOUND OUT THEY OVERLAPPED 2 WEDDINGS THE WEEK BEFORE. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AND RUINED OUR WEDDING MEMORIES AND WE WILL NEVER EVER FORGIVE THEM. EVER, EVER, EVER,
