My fiance and I stayed at The Limelight for two nights in late October. This was our first time visiting Aspen so we weren't sure what to expect, but considering the inflated prices in this area I think The Limelight is one of the better values to be found in Aspen.
We stayed in room 232 which was a basic King room with a view of the pool area. We didn't use it, but the pool (heated) and hot tub are open year-round. They cover them up when no one is using them, so I think you just need to ask and they'll open it for you (we saw them covered one day, then people swimming the next).
The room was nice, it had a mini-fridge and comfortable bath robes. The bed was comfortable as well. I didn't get the best sleep because the climate control was a little slow to cool the room down (I like it cold at night). Next time this will be an easy fix by just opening the window, but for whatever reason I didn't think of doing that at the time. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean even though we never saw them.
We tried the pizza (crispy potato something) and it was delicious. We also purchased a few cans of local brew from the bar to bring up to our room, which were also very good, although Aspen-priced (to be...My fiance and I stayed at The Limelight for two nights in late October. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Upon check-in we were given a picture-map of the town as well as restaurant recommendations. They explained parking to us ($5 / day street parking or $15 / day hotel garage parking), and we decided to park on the street using their pass. This wasn't bad as we were able to park within a block's walk every time we took the car out. They have complimentary bikes you can check out (we didn't get around to using them), and they offered us a shuttle service to get around town.
The location was very convenient. There's a park across the street (great for dogs) and we walked to various restaurants and shops throughout the weekend. We did use our car to go to Snowmass (scouting wedding locations) as well as to drive up to Basalt for an appointment, but around town you can walk from The Limelight to just about anywhere. I believe Aspen also has a free bus system so really you can easily get by without a car.
Our hands-down favorite part of the stay was the complimentary HOT breakfast served each morning. We chowed down on bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toasted bagels/bread, fresh fruit, yogurt & granola mix, donuts, coffee, fruit juices, tea, muffins and more bacon. We stuffed ourselves both mornings and will return to The Limelight if only to enjoy that delicious food again.More
