“Just Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2011

We got a last minute deal to stay at the Limelight Lodge and boy did we luck in. The room was large, clean, nicely appointed and looked out over the Aspen ski runs. We had fruit in our room when we arrived and water in the fridge, very welcome after a 20 hour journey to get there.

The next morning we got up to enjoy a fabulous "continental" breakfast of the sort I've never had on the continent! Loads of fresh fruit, bagels, ham (smoked salmon on Sundays), muffins (freshly cooked), all that stuff.

And then we spoke to the Ski Valet who arranged for a private car to take us to the slopes!!!! If you ski the Aspen hill, you are only a few blocks away, but still they run you there if you want. No walking in ski boots here! The Limelight is fantastically well located. All the restaurants are just a few minutes walk away.

And because the hotel is owned by the lift company, as you ski down, you leave your skis with the storage people, tell them which mountain you want to ski at the next day (there are four to choose from) and there they are for you the next day. How civilised is that!

But the best thing about the Limelight Lodge is the staff. Really friendly and helpful. Just a really nice atmosphere to stay in.

Thanks again, guys. You made a great trip really special

This place is fantastic and the service is beyond your expectations. Even before I arrived I called and spoke with Alison, who so graciously helped me in finding the perfect restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday, and she did not steer me wrong. John picked us up from the airport and was waiting when we arrived. He was very professional, friendly and courteous. Jaqueline, Peter and Marty at the front desk took care of our every need and were more than happy to assist us whenever needed. Alex gave us a complimentary ride back to the airport and was a delight to speak with and extremely courteous. Our room was very nice and had a wonderful view of Aspen Mountain, the dog park, and the village. The hotel is quiet and cozy, and the nightly music in the lobby is a must. The complimentary breakfast offers the freshest pastries, bagels, homemade banana bread, fruit, meats and cheese. These can be accompanied by the basics (yogurt, cereal, granola, etc) and their fantasic coffee and fresh orange juice. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Limelight, we had a fantastic vacation and will definitely be back next year.

My husband and I went to Aspen with a few other couples in late February. We all absolutely fell in love with Limelight Lodge! The location can't be beat and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I love the value inclusive of breakfast - it was so nice to go down and have a casual breakfast in the lobby area before walking to the lift. It's so close! Apres Ski was so nice relaxing in the hot tub in the back courtyard and then sitting by the huge, inviting fireplace before heading out to dinner. We have stayed at some of the chain-related hotels in Aspen on previous visits but after experiencing Limelight Lodge we will never stay anywhere else again. It was a perfect weekend! Thank you to all the staff for such a great getaway! We will be back this summer for Stay #2!

We had a wonderful stay at the Limelight. The hotel is nice and comfortable but it is the staff who really made the hotel special. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience in Aspen. I got the impression that everyone who works there enjoys their job. Special thanks to Ben, Peter and John but everyone was friendly and helpful from the cleaning staff to ski concierge. The lobby has a nice cozy feeling with live music. The rooms were big and clean, had a mini fridge, microwave, dishes, glasses, etc.. Being coffee drinkers we appreciated the K cups. Ski lockers on site. Hot tub was nice. Gym was small but equipment was good. Great location close to many fantastic places to eat. If you forget something Carl's Pharmacy a few blocks down has everything you need, even a liquor store! Overall a great place to stay in Aspen.

We were so excited to get to Aspen for a weekend of Skiing and hanging with friends. When you first walk into the Limelight you feel like you are at home. The living room is a great place to have drinks and catch up with old friends. There were always great bands playing in the living room. We started off our weekend with dinner at the hotel. They don’t offer much but what they do offer is pretty fantastic. The wood fired pizza was great; I would recommend the Mushroom one! They also offer some great salads as well.

Another great thing is the huge and I mean HUGE continental breakfast they offer, so good and a perfect way to start your ski day.

The rooms are nice size and it is great to have a little sink and fridge to keep some snacks in.

Overall I really enjoyed this place and would imagine it would be great for groups or people like us just trying to find a cool, hip place for 30 something’s to get together and have a great ski weekend!

I had reservations at the Sky Hotel to find out it was a dump. Limelight had 2 rooms available at $100 cheeper so I jumped on it. The place is brand new, very large rooms, clean, and most important, the staff Rocks.... Brian, Christian, Peter were fantastic to deal with. Hands down, I will go back.
