“Heated floors!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four days, and everything was perfect start to finish. We arrived a bit late due to weather conditions and driving, but the staff was great and overly welcoming. The man who helped us with our luggage was the best! It was cold as ever outside and he didn't hesitate once helping us with everything. He even helped carry everything up a flight of stairs! We really loved the heated floors, ESP in the bathroom. Also, the shuttle in and out of town is a great idea! The men driving were so nice and dropped us off close to where we wanted to go each time. Also, the man that picked us up from town, and I'm sorry to forget his name but I do remember he was from Oklahoma, and he gave us a lot of great locals advice. Def will stay here again when we come back. Everything was beautiful!

Perfect for the Eco-traveler who loves nature, walking, biking, swimming and bears. Within walking or biking distance to town, plus they have a shuttle running at all times. Not luxurious, but who needs luxury in this pristine nature reserve with outstanding views. Loved it!

With close proximity to the center of town, Aspen Meadows Resort is quietly nestled into a forty acre oasis. On the grounds, mature Aspen trees stand tall, framing spectacular views of the Colorado Rockies, and all four of Aspen’s ski mountains.

Commissioned by Aspen Institute Founder, Walter Paepcke, the renowned Bauhaus architect and artist, Herbert Bayer, designed the resort in the early 1950′s, to create a place where the spirit could be moved by Aspen’s natural setting. And moving it is.

During our stay at the Aspen Meadows, it was the forever changing light, casting its glow throughout the resort and over the mountains that became our soul shine, as the sound of snow crunched beneath our feet and the frost from our breath lingered before floating up to the sky.

The shuttles, running to and from the airport and town, make it easy to park the car for the entire stay, for free, in the on-site parking garage. After all, mountain towns weren’t made for driving.

Another added luxury, the resort has free on-mountain overnight ski/snowboard storage and overnight intermountain transfers. Regardless of whether you rent or bring your own equipment the resort’s partnership with 4 Mountain Sports allows guests to have free equipment valet.

At the resort, one and two bedrooms suites are available, all renovated in the winter of 2007. With a family of five, we were thankful for the 750 square feet of space that included separate living, working and sleeping areas (a two bedroom suite has 1,200 sq feet). Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows with views and a private patio or balcony. The suites also have High-Speed Wireless Internet, LCD flat screen televisions, a wet bar, under counter refrigerators (larger than your mini fridge), a microwave and a 2 line telephone. The 98 guest suites are spread out on the grounds with one main building housing the lobby, bar and restaurant, Plato’s, where the renowned James Beard nominee, Chef Todd Slossberg, creates contemporary, yet classical, comfort cuisine at its finest.

If it's cold, you can load onto the on-site golf cart and get escorted to the newly remodeled, full service, health club. The hot tub and outdoor pool are a great place to watch any fireworks that may be going on over Aspen Mountain.

The beds? The softest, silkiest sheets and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. If that doesn’t lure you in, it should!

In the morning, eggs and sausage beckoned from across the walk at the light and airy Plato’s restaurant and we ate a fulfilling breakfast to the flickering flames of yet another fireplace (children twelve and under enjoy the buffet for free).

In the suites are Franz Berko prints and his black and white abstract photographs, and one can only imagine the resort grounds in the summer, bustling with leaders and guests attending the Aspen Institute and the Aspen Writer’s Association.

If you are looking for a place to book a conference or a family-friendly, dog-friendly resort, this is your place.

Our familly stayed at the resort on a week vacation to visit our family in the area. The location of the resort was great because it was just on the edge of Aspen. It was easy to get to activities and escape the holiday traffic. Room service was very prompt and detailed. It was nice to come back from activities and relax in a clean room. The food was wonderful. We ate most of our meals on vacation there. It was fun to enjoy the local newspaper, good coffee and hot chocolate in the mornings. All of the food was creatively tasteful and healthy. Great Huevos Rancheros, Elk Chili and Colorado Rack of Lamb! In the evenings, the resort gave you the ability to cook your own smores in the fireplace while enjoying conversation on couch. My son loved that! The resort had a wonderful gym with everything to stay fit. We did leg training, indoor basketball and pull ups prior to a day of skiing. After skiing we came back to enjoy the heated outdoor pool and hot tub! That was really relaxing. My son loved the hiking trail in the mornings that was close by to walk in the snow and throw snowballs! Apsen is such a culturally rich place of activities. It is such a pleasure to visit and this resort really is a great way to enjoy it.

Room Tip: A top level room on the backside of the resort facing the mountains is very peaceful.

Three of stayed at Aspen Meadows and really enjoyed our stay. It is a little ways from downtown, but only 5 minutes using their regular shuttle service. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The rooms are large with huge windows that afford a great view. They also have a very nice health club, with heated pool and jacuzzi. We were worried about the inconvenience of not being directly in downtown Aspen, but it works out well with their shuttle that runs every 30 minutes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a south facing window to get a good view of Ajax, Highlands and Buttermilk mount...

Excellent stay at Aspen Meadows.  The rooms and service were great.  We have stayed at the resort twice this year, in September stayed at the Resort for a Wedding and in December we spent Christmas with our family.  I would recommend the Resort to all friends and/or family.  Great breakfast buffet, great workout facility. Overall experience at the Resort was excellent.

I can't say enough how fortunate I was to stay at Aspen Meadows for the third time this year! I absolutely love the place!!! Service is excellent, rooms are perfect, and the mountain view is even better. I would recommend the buffet breakfast and apres ski in the Hefner Bar. I also used the workout facility during the stay, it has everything you need. The town shuttle is a nice feature, very convenient for those late Aspen nights! What a great Christmas stay, I would recommend it to everyone.... Above all, I feel the staff and service makes or breaks a place. In Aspen Madows case, they continue to hit home runs time and time again!

Room Tip: 100 and 200 buildings are nice and close to the main lobby.
