“Outstanding Stay at Hotel Aspen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2012

Hotel Aspen features a great location, easy walking distance to Aspen's restaurants, shops, and Ajax -- or just pick up your skis and walk a few steps or across the street to the free shuttle to the other ski areas. Our bedroom was equipped with a flatscreen TV, fridge, microwave, and space heater! Heating the bathroom to just the right temperature was a luxury I enjoyed! Breakfast was above average, substanitial enough for skiiers: fresh scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, assorted cold meats & cheese, pastries, and whole grain bread and bagels. Apres ski was a delightful gathering where we met old and new friends over good wine, coffee, and surprisingly well-prepared hot hors d'ouevres! I highly recommend Hotel Aspen for reasonable prices, comfy accomodations, good food, and friendly, competent staff.

Room Tip: We are skiiers, so we love the ground floor rooms with direct access to the street, with excellent a...

our reservations were made blindly, having never been to aspen. the whole experience was fantastic! the staff was accommodating, even before we arrived. once settled, we were very comfortable - feeling very much at home for the weekend. our privacy was respected, and breakfast and apres ski were great additions to the weekend. would definitely stay again! thanks for playing a critical part to our our stay in aspen a great experience!

Nice boutique hotel. The room itself has a modern feel. It was very clean and spacious. We had a jacuzzi room on the third floor. We used it every night and with wonderful views of all the mountains. It was super romantic and the staff were very quick with every request (not that we had a lot of them ) but little things like utensils, wine opener ect.
The breakfast was really good. This is not one of those hotels that offers a continental breakfast and only gives you cereal and eggs. We had fresh waffles made for us every morning among other foods to choose from. Very filling! They also offered ospri ski from 4:30 to maybe 6 OR 7 can't remember..offering wine, beer & appetizers. Taco Tuesday was great! Not enough to replace dinner but good enough to go out and have a light dinner a few hours after. Def saves you money.
Location- perfect! right next to all the shuttles that take you everywhere you want to go in aspen .Most of the buses I saw don't charge anything. It's really a good walking distance to downtown anyway ,right on the strip.
The hotel price for the jacuzzi was a little high, but only because we insisted on a jacuzzi, other rooms would have been a lot cheaper than $340.00 a night (that includes all the tax and fees) but I really could find a lot of other hotels that offered a private jacuzzi. It was worth it, especially after a full day of skiing and you want to relax/defrost.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi room was really nice. Worth paying the extra money for. We used it everynight and had drinks...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Aspen a few weeks ago during our ski vacation. We enjoyed our room and the daily breakfasts and apres ski drinks and snacks. It was located extremely close to the bus lines and within easy walking distance of everything in Aspen. It was not easy to find a hotel that was affordable, updated and offered amenities like in-room refridgerators, but we were very pleased to find this property. I would certainly return in the future.

Room Tip: I stayed in 325 (rear of the hotel) and it was very quiet. The only downside is having to climb thr...

The place was perfect of our ski trip. We had a jacuzzi suite and enjoyed every morning looking up at aspen mtn. A hot breakfast was included every morning in their comfortable dining lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and warm with a mini kitchen.

The hotel is right on the bus line. Seriously.....20 steps to the snowmass line. 40 steps to the highlands line. 40 steps to the aspen mtn line. And the bus is free and we never waited more than 3 minutes for it.

The downtown shopping and dining area is 2 blocks away.....and these are aspen blocks, not manhattan blocks....4 minute walk.

There is no elevator, so you will need to walk up and down.

If you want a ritz feel, stay at the st regis.....and pay $1000 and more a nt. if you want a true aspen experience, stay at the hotel aspen. We did après ski at the little Nell. We had massages at the st regis. We enjoyed live music at the belly up. We enjoyed live acoustic music at snowmass.

The hotel aspen is the best value in the valley. Period.

Room Tip: Please book a hottie room.

ive recently been to hotel aspen thinking ok the pictures dont look so but, but i would like to start off by saying this is not a hotel! it is more like a motel/lodge. the so called "lobby" is so small its just where you go to pic up your room key. there isnt even a person there 24/7. there is no elevators in the hotel and all of the rooms are outside like a motel. if you are on the third floor you have to walk up all the flights because there are no elevators.
they rave about how the hotel is only 3 blocks away from town, i have never been to aspen before so i wasnt aware that all the hotels are mainly in town not a couple block away.
to top it all off the bathrooms were tiny! we had to move out of the way in order to close the door.

Dear Lillian D,

Thanks for taking the time to write about your observations, I appreciate your time and we're glad you stayed with us.

To respond to your comments briefly, all of the photos of our hotel are completely original and untouched, and accurately portray the hotel, it's decor and amemities. Our website goes into great detail as it pertains to our location, service and amenities. Nowhere do we claim that we have elevators and interior corridors, but we proudly advertise our convenient location on Main St.in central Aspen, our proximity (within one block) to free shuttles to all four Aspen ski mountains, included full hot breakfast, included Apre's Ski Reception, Included wi-fi, parking and airport shuttle - all at a rate that is on average 50% lower than the hotels that you mention as being closer to town - that also charge for all of the extras we offer for free.

We hope that our other TripAdvisor guests will take the time to read all of our other great reviews and also take into account our great prices and tremendous value when making their future travel plans.

Best regards,

Jeff Bay,

This is the second time we stayed at Hotel Aspen for the holidays. It was a very comfortable room, and the amenities and location are perfect at a very reasonable price for Aspen.
