Description: Since 1997, Jimmy’s has been Aspen’s neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy’s is an “Aspen Institution.” The menu has something for everyone, from the fresh-squeezed margaritas and the “locally-priced” bar menu to the famous crab cakes, USDA prime steaks, and fresh fish. “The menu is designed to feature the finest in American cuisine without being pretentious, served in an energetic atmosphere,” says proprietor (and local) Jimmy Yeager. The energy at Jimmy’s is what really draws a crowd; the bar is nearly always jam-packed and the dining room lively with activity and a mix of interesting people. The welcoming staff provide the best in top-notch hospitality. Jimmy's is "home" for a large community of locals and tourists alike. Plus, it’s the only place in town to experience the steamy rhythms of salsa and tango every Saturday night at 11.

“Delicious Food, spotty service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

There is a clear high standard for food quality and preparation here. Every meal i have ever had at Jimmy's is chalk full of individual character and flavor. On my last visit, i went with the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the crab cake as a starter. Delectable. In fact, i typically order the Lobster Mac & Cheese to start. Yep, i like it that much. This time i finished with a Filet and mashed potatoes, prepared nicely. It is pricey, however i feel for the quality of food, its a good value. In my experience here, the service is typically average or slow, unless your ordering drinks. Also, the current menu design is fun to look at, but a little hard to read. Sauce Alert: This establishment does not carry Béarnaise Sauce! Say what you will about preparation and whether a good steak needs sauce or not, I personally like Sauce no matter who prepares my steak.

“Of course he makes me smile!”

Awesome waitress! (Aside from the arrogant man that had no manners sitting in the table next to us) the food was amazing, well proportioned and flavorful.

“Nice dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We enjoyed the filet mignon and the scallops. Was not very busy and the service could have been more attentive. Expensive but seemed about average for Aspen.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

We went to Jimmy's at the recommendation of the consierge at our hotel. We had asked if there was a restaurant in town that served mussels. We were told we wouldn't need reservations since it was off season. When we got there we found out that someone had reserved the dining room for a private party, but the bar area was open. We sat at one of the table in the bar, very crowded together. Service was quick. We ordered our drinks and mussels. The mussels were amazing, served in a broth with spinach and tomatoes, and piping hot. After we finished them off, my husband ordered cauliflower soup and I ordered spinch and artichoke dip. Both were very good. We finished off with a couple of glasses of port and some molten lava cake. Server brought our cake but forgot silverware and proceeded to wander off and have an extended conversation with someone. When he finally came back with our port and realized that he hadn't brought silverware, he immedately brought some. When he brought our check he told us that he compted the desert because of the wait, very nice of him.
We enjoyed the evening, though we wondered about the dining room, since you could see it from the bar, and there were only a few people in it. Not even a quarter full, but totally reserved.

“Nice to be outside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We got there early, when it was not noisy-- in fact, the tables next to ours were empty-- so we could have a good conversation. We sat outside, enjoying the views of the mountains. A friend came straight from the airport, a great introduction to being in Aspen. The food was OK, the service attentive.
